How did this happen with all the aiport security? Knitting needles and aerosol cans they can find, but a man carrying explosives on his person goes undetected? Frightening.

A second attempt by another man, on the same flight number, happened today. Northwest, flight 253 from Nigeria.

This one, his father told the authorities he was a threat, over a month ago. Why was he not on a "no fly" list?

Is someone looking into security? Lisa

I shudder to think how they will smuggle bombs on board then.

The second attempt turns out the guy had food poisoning, but refused to leave the restroom for over an hour. Ok, he wasn't carrying a bomb, that I have read so far, however, his own father said he joined a radical muslim group and had ties with the Talaban, and that he should be considered dangerous. At that point, why was he sold a ticket?

After the first bomb attempt on the same airlines, just two days ago...you would think someone would have noticed and stepped up security. Maybe they were short staffed due to holidays, I dunno.

I figure we'll just have to go in nekkid and buy more clothes at our destinations...But there might be a place that starts renting clothes because of course you can't fly back in the clothes that you bought....lol

Actually, I saw a story on, I think it was 60 minutes, that some guy made arrangements to interview a prince in Iraq I want to say (been a while since I've seen the story, so pardon the scarce details)...anywhooo....he got to interview the prince and he had made arrangements for someone to call him on his cell, when the call was made it detinated a bomb that was up his bottom...lol

The prince was hurt but didn't die....

You can probably google it for the whole story...whatever news show I saw it on, showed as much of the interview as they could, of course they cut it off at the time of the actual explosion.

Wow...now that's some strong hatred right there...I mean forget about the explosion, but putting that up your butt? yeah I don't think so...lol

Really? That's a weird way to kill somebody. I know the Israelis did something similar many years ago, to a bomb-maker for Hamas; they packed a cell phone with plastic explosive, called the terrorost, and as soon as he began to speak, sent a signal to detonate the plastique. The phone blew his head off. Reached out, reached out and touched someone, they did.
