kikiK -> Philosophical question about virility (12/28/2009 7:33:52 AM)

Oooooo how to word this....

Cutting to the chase....in a mature man, does sexual relief hinder or help your competetive edge at work?
Does release of semen make you more relaxed and balanced?
Or
do you need to keep your testosterone, to maintain your competetive edge?

I realize this is a broad, general, and unique to the individual question/answer.
I have read 2 threads, elsewhere on CM, but this is not about ED. More about keeping or letting juices go being condusive to a man's ability to give everything to his career.
I hope I've made sense, remember how some coaches do not want their players having sex before a big game?
Something along those lines.

Thoughts....

That has little to do with work, career or competitive edge. Testosterone is a hormone, and has little to do with virility, and nothing with "competitive edge". You are grasping at straws here. Not having sex before a big game - I am curious what it is that makes you think coaches know anything about brain biochemistry. The only thing that would work is for coaches to be denied sex if their team does not perform.

Oh that was good!

crazyml -> RE: Philosophical question about virility (12/28/2009 8:43:54 AM)

This would appear to be a medical / psychological question about virility, rather than a philosophical one..

As for the question.... Hmmm... long term self-denial might result in you becoming so obsessed with the denial that you screw up at work and end up living in a dumpster.

Personally, if I haven't cum for a couple of days I tend to get snippy with my co-workers...

kikiK -> RE: Philosophical question about virility (12/28/2009 8:58:44 AM)

This is what I mean.
Sometimes I get confused.
You see it's not my cum, even though I love it. And I want to relieve Him, but I worry that I'm taking something He may need for competing out in the world. Knowing all the while, that if He wants me to have it, He will.

Missokyst -> RE: Philosophical question about virility (12/28/2009 10:23:37 AM)

If men of power, politicians, business mogels and the like thought cumming made them lose their edge I would bet there would be fewer scandals in the world.

sunshinemiss -> RE: Philosophical question about virility (12/28/2009 12:04:55 PM)

If you are so busy doing the nasty that you don't get good sleep, don't do the nasty.
If you are out so late and drinking trying to get a gal in bed, don't do it.
If you and your buddies are having a circle jerk until 3 in the morning and then can't look each other in the eye during the game, don't bother jerking.

I believe the coach may have not really wanted to point out the particulars like those noted above.

*Just a thought.

And I think that if ml hasn't had any in the last couple of days, it's his own damn fault.  *Can't believe girls aren't beating down your door!

I've stopped "being relieved" at work, my boss was looking at me funny, and my snoring bothered my co-workers.

Y'all are so funny!
Now I just feel like a greedy, selfish thing.
And I really am sooo goood!

DesFIP -> RE: Philosophical question about virility (12/29/2009 12:28:22 PM)

Does he really work in a place without any cooperation or group projects, where everyone tries all the time to undercut each other? Because that's the image brought up by 'competitive edge'. Whereas someone who is sexually fulfilled and relaxed will probably be better in his people skills, less likely to rise to the bait, more likely to have the energy to smile at a customer who can be difficult in his demands.

My competitive edge is connected to my work ethic, not my testosterone level.
Yes, release does allow the body a temporary relaxation period, but it will not override the mental work ethic

LafayetteLady -> RE: Philosophical question about virility (12/29/2009 6:25:39 PM)

FR-

Now personally, I don't believe any of that crap about testosterone and the male's ability to compete. However, a few years ago, I briefly dated a guy who was a professional body builder who's trainer instilled the belief in him that he needed all the testosterone he had to build more muscle. So....we rarely ever had sex. Consequently, he was left with all of his testosterone to put into building more muscle, but he was doing it alone.

Guess I'm kind of like the stereotypical guy that way. If we are in a relationship and you never want to give it up? We ain't staying in a relationship. I imagine he won his class in his next competition though...

aldompdx -> RE: Philosophical question about virility (12/30/2009 7:23:15 PM)

1. The question is about biology, not philosophy.

2. Use it or lose it. In the long term, abstinance decreases production.

Why thank you! It's true - I've had to reinforce the door ;-)

it's a very, competitive, cutthroat field, even more so in this economy. He really wants to move up and His day consists of blueprints and managing a team.
I greatly appreciate E/everyone's responses. I don't have those parts. That's one of the reasons "oral sex tips from gay men" was so informative.
Right now, I think it's just a balance of retension and release. Of course, my own selfish desires are stirring the pot.

AquaticSub -> RE: Philosophical question about virility (12/31/2009 11:57:14 AM)

~Fast Reply~

Medically, it won't have an effect. This question reminds me of old cultural myths like men not wanting to cum inside women because they thought we would "steal their power".

If he works better having no release or being released frequently is going to depend entirely on the man on question so I'd ask him.

That has little to do with work, career or competitive edge. Testosterone is a hormone, and has little to do with virility, and nothing with "competitive edge". You are grasping at straws here. I was the top salesperson in an industrial sales company.  I was the only female in my product specialty.  I did not use any hormones while at work that I am aware of.  ( I didn't sleep with or offer to sleep with my clients).  So I cannot see how testosterone has anything whatsoever with competitive edge.
