Former Mountie stabs Ottawa police officer as he waited in his car outside hospital. Story here. Please extend well wishes to YDD aka beer bug as the officer who was killed was part of her extended family. YDD asked me to post this and asked for everyone to send prayers and condolences to the slain officer's wife and children.

Shame about Canada's stance on the death penalty. Here, you kill a cop, you plan on dying one way or the other. Up there in Canada...it's apparently 'ok' to kill. Tragic.

Loki - this thread is about the victim and his family - which extends into mine. Take your vitriol somewhere else. To the rest of you - thank you very much for your thoughs. This is the first officer in 29 years lost in the line of duty in Ottawa. I am only thankful that he was in the service because I know his widow and children will be well taken care of.
