You see now it has the element of realism and people won't even think to question why the tyre treads are not a blur.[;)]

No need to question...It is like a prop on a plane...at a certain speed you still see the prop...that is why the hub has a small radial blur rather then a big one... same with the tread

Sounds good anyway.

While we are finding faults I forgot to motion blur the view through the window...but at 145 pixels none of that will be noticed

This is a good point you make about the prop.

Which reminds me of that fascinating fact about the BMW logo.

All that is left to do now is create an animated gif of it so that the truck can move backwards and forwards in the frame.

Too late I flattened all the layers...too big a job to make all the selections again...wish I had thought of it...hmmm will this forum take gif's in avatars…I know many do…I have just not seen any here.

Lucylastic -> RE: Avatars... (1/3/2010 10:07:53 AM)

heh thats cool KD, very very cool

SL4V3M4YB3 -> RE: Avatars... (1/3/2010 10:09:48 AM)

That is an option indeed but I would start to worry about what message it is sending out, I mean is it really wise to be driving a truck that fast in the snow?

kdsub -> RE: Avatars... (1/3/2010 10:10:54 AM)

I changed my mind...lol too hard this morning... re-read the edited post

I've seen a couple of people with animated gifs and have thought about making one myself but they take longer to loads all the individual frames so it probably annoys people with a slow connection. So I've not really ventured into it for that reason but I have seen them.

Thanks Lucy but it will not make a good avatar...as photos are shrunk it is best to keep them simple... too much detail makes clutter…but fun anyway.

I think if they are kept simple with few colors they load fast...I've animated avatars on many of my forums.

I havent played with animation shop for a long time, but yes I can see the work/detail in it KD it is still cool.
working with the limitations on file size can be a pain, the old chat room I used to make avatars for, we had a limit(in the beginning) of 48x64.. and 5kb
then it moved to 102x116 with a 15k limit. the trick was to reduce them enough so they could be "painted" or "tagged". with personalised names etc.
for example

my artistic ability is really really poor, but I used to like playing around with avatars....

kdsub -> RE: Avatars... (1/3/2010 11:06:35 AM)

Looks like great work to me...beyond my capabilities... I have no artistic ability...lol...it is hard to get good text at something like 80 by 80 for example...Do you use special fonts?

Butch

Lucylastic -> RE: Avatars... (1/3/2010 11:13:07 AM)

Fonts I usually apply last to the finished size, otherwise its too persnicketty to get it looking non ragged.
and no special fonts, just a small size.

LadiTrukDriver -> RE: Avatars... (1/3/2010 7:31:28 PM)

SL only you would notice such things, I've been doing this job 20 years this month & didn't even notice that.
As for the truckers coming on to me, that does happen on occasion, and trust me, I'm no Goddess, just look at my actual CM profile pic!  LOL but I do enjoy baking cookies, provided I can stop eating the cookie dough long enough LOL
Now as for chasing truckers, here's my thought, you can only go so far north, then you eventually have got to go south again. I learned that actually going south when I was in Laredo, TX staring at a sign that said Nuevo Laredo 1 mile, you would be amazed at how quick I turned that truck around, called dispatch & told them that they needed to get new directions LOL
As for trying the Avatars that you put earlier, will they work as the smaller, or would you have to upload them to the page again, or can I just go off the ones that you put up earlier?  I don't know how all that techie stuff works LOL
I do like the truck that's moving at the speed of light, every dispatchers dreams, just not very fond of red LOL

Lucylastic -> RE: Avatars... (1/3/2010 7:36:24 PM)

I changed the av you mentioned to the smaller size so if you dl it again it will work, or should:)

pahunkboy -> RE: Avatars... (1/3/2010 8:05:25 PM)

I been thinking.

Might we need Homeland Security to have an avatar compliance and monitoring program?

you know- in case they get out of hand.    we has to be safeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~~~!
