wandersalone -> RE: Lushy is an amazing cook! (1/3/2010 8:12:31 PM)

puts my hand up to be a taste tester.

Lushy you already were on my list for my next trip but now you are on it twice [:D]

I just got it from my girlfriend tonight. I wote down the recipe for her 20 years ago. The paper was yellow. I had to add things becuase i didnt explain enough about it. Sometimes when you see your mom do something for years you dont think that people dont know. Once I type it out I'll get it to you.

Mandelbread recipe WANTTTT!! Have I told you the saga of my mom and her quest for the PUBLIX mandelbread recipe? There is cream cheese in it, and it is blowing her mind!

(it is also blowing the mind of the ACTUAL Jewish cooks I know!)

my moms recipe blew my mind. It has no leavening agent..baking soda or powder . i called to make sure it was right???

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Lushy is an amazing cook! (1/6/2010 7:41:16 PM)

Well I know my mom will be testing this out... do you know of any recipes for this that have cream cheese?? Mom goes off on these wild hair projects sometimes, and she will NOT take no for an answer! (apples falling off trees, yeah yah....[8|])

lusciouslips19 -> RE: Lushy is an amazing cook! (1/6/2010 7:49:44 PM)

I'm sure you can google it. It just wont be my moms mondel bread![:D]

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Lushy is an amazing cook! (1/6/2010 7:51:19 PM)

OH it has been Googled. And exhaustively researched. ONLY Publix has the cream cheese. Now ME< I am saying, MOM< just buy the freakin mandelbread at the Publix and have done with it!! Which we are, since shoot, one batch there must be 100 llbs of dough!

Sigh.

lusciouslips19 -> RE: Lushy is an amazing cook! (1/6/2010 8:15:20 PM)

Its likely not to be found because traditionally in jewish homes Mondel Bread is traditionally Pareve. This means nuetral and able to be eaten with milk or meat products. But adding cream cheese its dairy only.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Lushy is an amazing cook! (1/6/2010 8:37:44 PM)

Oh for heavens sake I hadn't thought of that! I have a really hard time with what makes something Pareve anyway... though I do have a Consulting Rabbi for the really difficult questions!

{Really!}

If its not a meat product, dairy product or chicken (meat) product...Eggs are pareve, fish is pareve along with bread products, fruit, veggies, etc.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Lushy is an amazing cook! (1/6/2010 8:48:15 PM)

See, to me fish is MEAT... LOL! When my friend's mom died I was gonna bring her some food, since I actually have UNUSED utensils but the whole pareve thing MESSED with me. So I got kosher carryout...

lusciouslips19 -> RE: Lushy is an amazing cook! (1/6/2010 8:51:45 PM)

That was smart!

estah -> RE: Lushy is an amazing cook! (1/8/2010 11:09:37 AM)

Ohhh a two week cooking course at lushy's =)

*hugs* Heya lushy lips.

verity is drooling over here in Germany.

lusciouslips19 -> RE: Lushy is an amazing cook! (1/8/2010 11:13:29 AM)

Cooking is organic, Verity. Comes from inside yourself. Organization is not king. Play with spice. Use recipes as a guide only and do not be afraid of failure. Just dont serve the failures!

estah -> RE: Lushy is an amazing cook! (1/8/2010 11:27:49 AM)

Ahhh Lushy...the course was just an excuse to visit you and try your cooking. *winks*

cjan -> RE: Lushy is an amazing cook! (1/20/2010 6:37:04 AM)

Perhaps someone should contact the cooking channel and pitch a BDSM cooking show. Yanno, the hostess dressed in leather corset, thigh-high boots, etc.

Guest subs , properly restrained, could be tortured and teased with the wonderful aromas and presentation , but, of course, a few wiffs is all they get while the Dom/mes get to savor the results.

I expect royalties.

LanceHughes -> RE: Lushy is an amazing cook! (1/21/2010 7:08:17 AM)

And the subs/slaves have to do ALL the prep work (chopping, running ingredients, etc.) and, of course, they have to make the kitchen spotless by the end of show as the Dom/mes get to eat, watching them struggle.... how 'bout the slaves/subs 'get" to clean the pans with their tongues?  Especially the one burned for just this purpose?

I do love cooking.... it's everything that happens before and after that I don't like. LOL!

That flashed an image in my mind I thought I woudl share. I could picture Lushy in a kitchen with a mixture or spoons, knives, whips crops and assorted pervrtables on the wall behind her. Then she beraks into her bit about BDSM brownies, slave's suace etc . . . all in a very proper tone while wearing some skimpy slave/maid/cook type outfit.

lusciouslips19 -> RE: Lushy is an amazing cook! (1/21/2010 1:15:48 PM)

Im confused here. Am I the hostess on the show or am I the sub who's goose is going to get cooked? Or maybe I get in trouble if the Dominants dont like my sauces? Me making things I have never made before, like hollandiase sauce or puff pastry from scratch????
