I financially supported the NCSF in this case and helped publicize it in our local community during a national event I produced in 2004. I wonder now if the NCSF had enough muscle to take it on. I was disappointed to learn that they got nowhere with it. I do think it is good that they were able to bring national attention to this matter though. A good organization with lots of legal victories on the electronic freedom front is The Electronic Frontier Foundation, www.EFF.org Their lawyers contributed one of the briefs used in the Nitke case. Reading the EFF site is like looking at victories on steroids. Some of the best IT geeks, lawyers, and freedom activists in the nation regularly contribute their time and money to this organization. I think the EFF is in a far better position than the NCSF to defend against government attacks of 1st Amendment free expression. I also agree with Tammy Jo that parents need to be responsible for their kids, not the government. Our freedom should not be threatened because of poor parenting. Nice to see she's from Indiana and hope she comes to Wicked Wednesdays! Something else I've noticed is that there is a lot of dissent among our own. If we don't get UNITED quickly folks, we're never going to get anywhere. Each of us should be supported to do what we do consensually with others....PERIOD. Even if most do not agree with our art, our personal expression, our sexual preferences, etc, you need to agree with our right to do it consensually. I've experienced and witnessed more intolerance, judgement, and attacks in our own community than I ever did in many years going to church and attending a christian university. It is shameful behavior and will ultimately be our undoing. As long as we're divided as a community the government has a far better chance of moving forward with its agenda to extort more freedom from us and force us into politically correct herds that they can control. Each of us need to be in the business of defending personal freedom (as long as it does not harm or infringe on the freedom of another) in whatever form it takes. Miss Ann THE REFORMATORY
