As for Pat Buchanan I don't think he's "religious" is he? I've only met him once and his sister Angela "Bay" twice and she's a hoot! Funny as hell! I think she converted from Catholicism to Mormonism.

One of the main problems with Christianity compared with other religions is this idea of forgiveness. It would be fine if forgiveness was applied consistently across the board for all the deadly sins but instead people are deciding on the level of sin in consideration of if someone is forgiven or not. So some of the deadly sins are more deadly than others and a modern committee is deciding which ones.

Here is the moral code but you don't have to follow it as long as you apologise for the times you don't.

Also if you are ignorant of the code of conduct then you can't be blamed for not following it, instead you should blame other people that didn't bring it to your attention i.e. that murdering and such like was wrong. I don't know if being ignorant of what is a sin counts as a sin.
