freakinmeout -> Need a term for something, please help (1/4/2010 4:48:09 PM)

Hi, i am quite used to the term "gold digger" used on here, in profiles, journals, messages etc. It seems to be used in a negative sense to describe someone expecting their partner to provide money, material things. i personally think there should be a term for the Doms/couples etc looking for a sub/slave to cook, clean, do laundry, yardwork, sometimes farm work and child care. Why is there no negative term for someone looking to get all that out of a person?

wandersalone -> RE: Need a term for something, please help (1/4/2010 5:16:30 PM)

how about husband or wife? [:D]

osf -> RE: Need a term for something, please help (1/4/2010 5:18:06 PM)

how about a domestic sucker?

UniqueRaven -> RE: Need a term for something, please help (1/4/2010 5:18:58 PM)

Ummmm, Owner?

There's a huge difference between a "gold digger" and a slave.

And if someone doesn't want to be a 24/7 Owner, then that's all right, if it doesn't work for them and they consider slaves "gold diggers," so be it.  Doesn't change what i am, or how i serve my Owner/Master.

i'm not sure there's anything else you're asking?  Please let me know if i've missed something.

julie

uh....let's see now...because there are people whose kink would be to serve a Dom couple so it would not be considered negative by them?

why would you need to create a negative word out of someone else's preference?

it would only be negative if it was non-consensual, ie. the couple kidnapped someone and forced all that labor on them.

osf -> RE: Need a term for something, please help (1/4/2010 5:24:21 PM)

i think she means she's not into and maybe has been expected to serve

SPnEroticaone -> RE: Need a term for something, please help (1/4/2010 5:33:52 PM)

I thought gold digger was a Dom(me) who want the slave to pay for what ever - no?

I don't care. Whatever floats your boat. I am not here to judge.

Why is there no negative term

It isn't necessarily negative. It describes a person who is after riches without appreciable effort. Nuttin' wrong with that.

Used to be simply termed a "domestic" in some BDSM circles... now, I'm not sure if most would get the full meaning, so you'd have to define it in your profile; e.g., "Seeking a 'domestic' (i.e., a stay at home sub/slave for all domestic household responsibilities)..."

There is a term for this.  It's called an "adult."

Domestic Princess

I get what you are saying, OP.

I've seen the exploitation of individuals seeking to become part of a household, who later found out that the dynamic of the relationship had been misrepresented.   Sometimes people woo others into their lives, with the intention of exploiting them, but are not up front about those intentions.

Perhaps it is a good thing that there isn't a name for it (that I know of.)

You gotta wonder how things ever come to have names....like priapism.... Before Viagra and Cialis, who knew there was even a word for an erection that lasted longer than 4 hours?

We used to call it adolescence.

But in answer to the OP, I commented on another post that there is no shortage of people looking for a free ride:

"I am a Goddess, you will do all domestic chores and support me in the manner to which I deserve."
"I am a Master, and you will do all domestic chores and turn over your paychecks to me."
"I am a helpless slave, and cannot be expected to work. And I am not a maid, so I don't do domestic work."

They are all saying the same thing, just draped in different rhetoric.

Gold digging is quite hard work actually

my Husband and me stumbled upon a deserted gold mine in Norway once
we wandered around and we saw gold specks in the rocks... something strange happened to us and for the next 3 hours we looked for rocks and broke them, smashed them... worked our fingers to the bone in the hope of finding a big lump of gold
... we absolutely exhausted ourselves totally giving in to this ridiculous gold fever

gosh is was ace... what a nugget of a memory...

allthatjaz -> RE: Need a term for something, please help (1/6/2010 4:16:09 AM)

ranja, you made me spit my morning coffee all over the keyboard [:D]

As for the ops question.... I kind of get what your saying.
If someone wants to be a domestic and someone wants a domestic then all is happy at the cottage but Animus Rex has made some good points
I tend to read a lot of profiles. Not because I am looking but because Im just generally nosy! Some of those demands made by both submissives and Dominants waves the red flag of someone looking for an easy ride. I think generally people have enough savvy to see them for what they are and the ones that don't will learn the hard way.

sweetriver -> RE: Need a term for something, please help (1/6/2010 4:40:03 AM)

i think the generic term would be 'user' whether Dominant or sub...

ranja -> RE: Need a term for something, please help (1/6/2010 5:41:24 AM)

the story continued,
we took a large rock with gold specks home...as souvenir
and we visited my grandparents and told them about the gold mine and showed them the rock... and a little later as we were talking about other aspects of our travels we noticed that my grandad had disappeared...
we found him in the garden with hammer and chisel... and our rock...
he was affected with gold fever too...

the strange thing is that he had always been a realistic and hard working man, but the unlikely chance of a lump of gold hiding in that rock had taken hold of him just as much as it had affected us initially... and we still held our breath as he smashed it to pieces... it was another disappointment, but it was funny too...

iron pyrite aka fool's gold?????

ranja -> RE: Need a term for something, please help (1/7/2010 2:52:18 AM)

Maybe, but it used to be a productive mine as far as i new...

OP, kept woman or slave?
      housewife?

My Husband is the main provider in our household and from the start He wanted me to be at home, He desired to 'keep' me.
i do however have my own little bussiness that brings in some extra money.
