ORIGINAL: Archer6 I hear the word "training" being thrown about on folks profiles.; training collars, in training, looking to be trained ...but what exactly is training? To me it's been educating a girl on what behaviors are acceptable, and essentially what to do, and not to do But I've also seen profiles where girls have claimed thier training is complete, and ready for thier new/next/real owner so I have to ask when you hear "training" what come to your mind? "Training", for me, comes in multiple forms. *Someone may be trained in something we need (like accounting, Certified Professional Secretary, Aesthetics/Aesthetician, Massage Therapy, Homeopathy, Formal Tea Service, Chef de Patisserie, etc.) where we didn't do the training ourselves. *We have in-house training in our own preferences in terms of behavior, application of skills, etc. that are specific to our household and our rules. This may also include specialized household skills like forms of address, physical positioning (in our case, how to execute a proper bow, curtsy, disciplinary or petitioners obeisance, etc.), speech training (including specialized speech forms like third-person), etc. *A servant may be trained in -specific- skills, either in-house or outside of the household, that may not be taught in a formal education setting, but may be relevant to that servant's particular duties (laundry management, gardening, etc.) In any case, training is about learning how to do -something- or how to behave in a certain way. It may be something one teaches oneself, or something one learns through apprenticeship or experience outside the immediate environment. For many, when they talk about "slave training", they're talking about the sexual and aesthetic/performance aspects of slavery, like learning presentation positions, sexual positions, effective oral sexual skills, etc-- for us, though, this kind of training would be essentially useless, so realistic expectations are typically in order. We have a policy that any newly-arriving servant, even if they've served for a decade, will be in a probationary position with us for a minimum of 3 months, and will be required to undergo evaluation by one of our senior trainers. We do this because, regardless of what a servant may have learned elsewhere, we have a specific way of doing things in our household, and that servant's prior training may not match our preferences. So while it is excellent to seek out training (and an admirable presentation of initiative on the servant's part), it is also important to realize that customization and re-training may be a part of a new situation, and one shouldn't consider such to be an affront to the initiative that has been taken in obtaining the original training.
