DeaconAegis -> Protocols - Hello (3/21/2006 9:22:44 AM)

I suppose I should introduce myself if I intend and engaging any meaningful level of discussion here on collarme. Obviously I am here because of my interest in the BDSM scene and the D/s dynamic. My experience level is relatively new as far as actively engaging the scene, however I am a Dom by nature and it reflects in the practical aspects of my daily experience. Never-the-less, engaging that nature at this level of experiencing is now only 8 months vested.

That said, I despise being treated as an idiot. I have no doubts that there are many understandings and experiences within the TPE quest that I am ignorant of as yet, however I am quite thorough in my research as well as open in my communications. I believe in accountability for my actions as well as my perceptions and always pursue a higher standard in my personal growth and development in both matters practical and desires pursued.

I am truly only looking for good conversation and active discussion of concepts and experiences relevant to the BDSM scene and the levels upon levels there within. I honestly do appreciate other Dom's perspectives as well the perspectives of the subs, as I have no delusion the dynamic is an equally derived flow of awareness between both the Dom and the sub. It does take two to tango, so the saying goes.

Hopefully this, at least, satisfies the greeting protocols of the site here and I look forward to chatting with a few of you.

I share the same hatred as DeaconAegis. I havn't encountered it =here= yet but in most bdsm communities I have ever encountered I have been shown extreme disdain and dismissiveness due to my lack of experience compared to others. That coupled with my being 19 isn't helpful at all. I think a lot of people are being pushed aside do to age/experience etc. Shouldn't the BDSM community be welcoming instead?
(note, Im fairly new to this site, and havn't seen any of the dismissiveness yet, I'm just throwing it out there that it does happen a lot in the community)

Welcome to you both. You'll see I've been labled as a vanilla cone head too, at the moment. But that doesn't make me feel like an idiot. Although about lots of things in life, I really am one! The more I know, the less I know I know.

 I kinda find it amusing actually. If you'd like to not be so obvouslly labled as a cone head, I understand we must post 25 times. By then, hey, we'll all have a lot more experience! lolol

I guess I will join the "Vanilla cone head" club here.

I agree completely.

As soon as a display my age people label me as being inexperienced, and they show me less respect then they would a dim-witted dog on acid.

I have been in the "Scene" for longer then I have been legal, and I have been working in the industry almost 2 years. I can honestly state that I have experienced my fair share of BDSM and dominent/submissive exchanges.

I enjoy every minute of my life, and I although I dont belive I will experience the full extent of distain and ill-manned side of the "Scene" it is nice to see that people share my empathetic view.

Greetings and welcome to CM, hope to see some posts from You all soon.

No worries there is not much of that judging thing going on here, it is a pretty good site.
