wetrope -> RE: Where does Yyour deepest pride come from? (9/9/2004 4:55:50 AM)

Thanks for comments all, but my remarks were important because some in the scene (not necessarily this site) think they are a whole lot better and have told my sub so, (actually tried to steal her), but i'm only in this 2.5 yrs and still learning. I'm beginning to like this site more than any other.

Hey Wetrope,

Man, never let other people's opinion of the life shape your own...and most espcially don't let their opinions color your opinion of yourself. A couple of reasons, first, most people are too stupid to give that kind of influence, the second is it don't matter, if you know, KNOW, you are oding things the right way then you are....you might lose subs because your way isn't her way, but there are equal numbers of subs out there who will find your way of doing things just about perfect.

with poaching...and I suspect this is a worn-out thread (don't bother looking it up folks) there should be some sort of honor between doms and I'm told someplaces there are....but most times its like eaglelets in a nest, the big ones eat the small ones, it's nasty but it's the way of eagles. All you can do is let it be known you'll take it personal like if someone tries and when it comes down to it, win the fight even if it's with a sock of pennies.

and of course keep your sub happy & too busy to notice someone trying to poach her, this isn't absolute cuz of the sub-ego factor, so many of them come from this place they want male-attention (okay dom/me attention, my innate sexism is goin' end me up on a lughnasad altar one day) the flattery of being chased makes them open to it and they'll jump ship short sightedly without considering they maybe leaving a good dom for a bad one.

small story: I had a guy trying to take one of my girls back a few years ago, this was at the infancy of the mainstream internet, so it was at long distance, so I packed her up and took her across the country to where he lived, got to the right address and explained to him face to face in real life, if he wanted her he had to knock me down...well needless to say he back-downed, all 5'2" of him. Dunno if he ever learned some manners but the trip home with her was a roller coaster ride of good sex and proper submission (much better than the trip out) so defending what is yours can have grand results on occasion.

I concur with what Shrew said. You are who you are. How would anyone from this site know they are better than you? Do they know you personally? Are they at home with you and your sub?
The only way I can even imagine someone saying that is if your sub was complaining about you.

My soon to be father in law passed away the end of June this year. Well, I guess he won't be my father in law now...but in my eyes he will. So he is.
Anyway he and his wife had issues the entire 11 years they were married. During these fights he would go to his daughters and son. Bitch and moan. Suffice to say, they developed an opinion about the wife. Don't hurt my dad. Started hating her. In the 11 years they were married she was not allowed at their homes. No holidays spent together, nothing. What he didn't understand is he did all of this himself.
If he never ran to them to bitch to begin with. How would the daughters have felt so strongly about her?
Sometimes we need to calm down and think things out rationally before we go running like children to bitch about something we never should be bitching about in the first place.

I'm not saying that is what your sub did or did not do. It is only an opinion.
