How I use M/s or D/s in my spirituality... I was raised into the usual Western Judeo-Christian religious order, and have studied comparative religion my entire life. Religion is just the portable handle people have tried to put on the indefinable - like a light switch is the place you go to turn on the unseeable electricity. So I have studied the religions of the world to distill the handles people have distinguished all over the world, from every culture. There are cultural differences, but they all have a few ironic common denominators...that learning to submit the will and ego, and suspend judgement and demand, provide a new realm of possibility for love, for experience. Conversely, one can produce awesome results when manifesting powerful, consistent and unrelenting action through the force of will, if rightly directed with an end in mind. Paradox. Balance. Yin/yang. I am a dominant personality who has learned that the submissive direction of my will ( i am a sub) provides a world of pleasure and purpose I never dreamed possible. I believe that I am a source of fascination and awe for my doms...that such power will willingly yield and serve at the feet of another, when the world would fall at my own feet if I demanded it. I believe that Doms/Masters actually find that they serve, as much if not more than they are served. The immense care that a good Dom or Master displays, the immense energy it takes to sustain the will to power in one's family...it is earned, and cannot effectively be demanded and held for long with much satisfaction, in the absence of some real caring and service. Ironic yet true. To teach, to direct, to order, to demand to a standard, is to serve if you look deeply. Not to mention the care and protection and sustenance a Dom or Master gives. These life lessons teach me Who God Is, and who I am. This is how I use the lifestyle as a life school.
