Sanity -> RE: Olbermann Cheney is nothing more or less than a traitor (1/6/2010 6:38:08 PM)

The United States government is intimately involved with airline security, taz.

That isn't news, and even Obama was forced to admit that his team is performing miserably:

quote:

Barack Obama slams 'unacceptable' failure by agencies to foil airline bomber

PRESIDENT Barack Obama last night delivered a blistering attack on his own US intelligence agencies for failing to intercept the Detroit airline bomber on Christmas Day.

President Obama said the government had enough information to foil the attempted bombing, but intelligence agencies "failed to connect those dots" and left nearly 300 passengers and crew in peril.

The president called the response unacceptable, and added: "I will not tolerate it."

So far as the 9/11 hijackers goes, thats a different ball of wax. They changed the game. Atta and company came in trained under the Clintons, and they taught us all a surprise lesson.

Well, (ahem) most of us.

Good attempt at an excuse Sanity. Except Bush and party were warned, offered information, and refused to take action. There was no surprise there.

Edited to add

Actually... no surprise all around... either in the fact that an airplane hijack was being planned.. or the fact that Bush was too busy on vacation to take care of the threats.

Also edited to add

Obama accepted responsibility for the attempt, for the system cracks. Bush denied any knowledge for a long time.

I wonder how many people remember the naive, green, young president who came roaring in like a bull in a china shop, promising to withdraw from Iraq and close down Gitmo, said he would make the world love us as he reached out to our foreign friends...

He won a Nobel Peace Prize just for all the lofty promises he made. He bowed down before the kings of Islam and swore we weren't at war with them.

Now what do we have? Now that he's not quite so wet behind the ears as the freshman congressman who once was going to change the world? He's holding secret meetings, increasing troop levels, and getting on his people for being soft when it comes to screening for terrorists.

With a little experience under his belt he's looking and sounding more and more like Dick Cheney every day, isn't he.

And everyone's swearing he's "just like Bush".

So by this perverse logic, anything that happens for the next 7 years is Bush's fault.

Got it.

No, Obama shined the kings shoes with his lips and his tongue.

Seems that way EW. Except, Obama is taking responsibility for the attempts and mistakes of his administration. Sadly, Bush has yet to take responsibility for his.. and i wont hold my breath until he does.

Obama is admitting he and his people are just now beginning to learn the lessons of 9/11, that Dick Cheney learned ON 9/11.

Better late than never, but still...

One of the many quotes of yours I can post referring to Clinton:

Sanity -> RE: Olbermann Cheney is nothing more or less than a traitor (1/6/2010 8:05:53 PM)

Not so much because when Obama said the panty bomber acted alone we all knew the panty bomber had been aided by al-Qaeda-in-Yemen, and when Janet Napolitano tried to tell us that the system had worked we all knew it had failed, and failed badly.

They know how to lie, sure, but their dummy tracks are all over the news.

Ah so its perfectly ok for our then president to french kiss the king.. and get fucked by that kings subjects.. and not mention the truth of the fact till 6 years later.

Nice fantasy world you have there.

Sanity -> RE: Olbermann Cheney is nothing more or less than a traitor (1/6/2010 8:13:00 PM)

It was a little effeminate. I think Bush must have learned to act like that at Yale, but I don't care really. Are you a homophobic taz?

I watched as she made the rounds of the morning interview programs Sunday, laying out what she knew about the would-be terrorist and carefully refusing to speculate about the many matters that were still being investigated. She is being criticized for saying "the system worked," but her part of the response system did work.

Her reaction, the TSA's reaction to the incident worked, which is what she meant all along. Yes, it was a failure.. but in all actuality, why was he ever allowed to board a plane, and do we, US, have the ability, and the right, to prevent boardings out of country with the intent on flying into our airspace?

Not at all, i think man on man sex is hot. However i am weirded out by a man who kisses a king, then withholds information that the king's subjects killed thousands of americans, and withheld that information for years.

His so called friend was king to the murders you so blatantly overlook. and you see nothing wrong with any of that... interesting.

Sanity -> RE: Olbermann Cheney is nothing more or less than a traitor (1/6/2010 8:26:09 PM)

You're kind of out there to be hating on someone for what his "subjects" do. Look at all the crazy shit Americans do every day, do you hate Obama over it?  [8|]

Its pretty clear (at least to me) what the source of all your hates is taz, 'cause you're broadcasting it loud and clear.

thornhappy -> RE: Olbermann Cheney is nothing more or less than a traitor (1/6/2010 8:26:33 PM)

Saw a column earlier this week that was interesting.

It noted that after 9/11, after all the intel traffic of the previous summer showing increased risk of activity, all the warnings....Bush's ratings go to 99% positive.  After all that death and destruction.  (Now I expect to hear that it was really all Clinton's fault - and most of those arguments can be disproven by Snopes.)

Now there's a near miss, and Obama's getting nailed to the wall.  All the intel reorganization (and the creation of DHS) was done by Bush/Cheney.  All those systems that were supposed to prevent this type of activity didn't work.

The guy should never had made it on a plane, just based on the ticket type.  Why isn't Delta/Northwest being slammed on that, by chance?  We can put all sorts of spiffy systems in place but if one airline drops the ball we're all screwed.

The "panty bomber" will be tried in a civilian court, just like Bush did with Reid.  So was Bush soft on terrorism by trying Reid in civilian courts?

Brennan visitied Yemen in March and September, working on ways to counter al-Quaeda.  More drone attacks against al-Quaeda in Pakistan were carried out in the first year of Obama's presidency than in the entire Bush administration.

So how's he not taking al-Quaeda seriously again?

(some information came from here.)

BTW Sanity, Bush said he was going to close Gitmo, too.  And he released 500 guys, including a bunch to Yemen.

quote:

ORIGINAL: Sanity

Olbermann and the rest of the far left are reacting. They are afraid of Dick Cheney because they know that he took national security very seriously, and that's a problem for Olbermann's crowd because compared to Bush & Cheney, our government is being run by clowns right now.

We nearly lost a jet full of innocent people to the panty bomber, for crying out loud. The guy was sending up every red flag there ever was and he was escorted right onto that airplane, but Obama's handpicked girl heading up Homeland Security Janet Napolitano claimed the system worked perfectly. Perfectly! And she's still got her job.

So now we're supposed to be foaming at the mouth and looking cross eyed at Dick Cheney???

You're kidding, right?

Dick Cheney took al-Qaeda seriously. I say give him Napolitano's job!

If it had not been Bushes friend, do you honestly believe he would have kept that information quiet? Your fantasy land is becoming more and more fantastic, and fanatical.
