The Tea Party doesn't support anything.

No, that's not a snarky remark--the Tea Party is against things, but has no organized support of anything.

I agree,

I just find it curious that people include them in the GOP numbers when there is no evidence that they should be, they speak out against anyone who does not do what the founder supports, with out the millions 1 man gave to start them up, they would be nothing

In fact, every interview I've heard with Tea Party folks has them stressing they're from all parties, including Dems and independents.

I doubt it's really true much--seems to be more disaffected Republicans, especially ones who embrace a simplistic version of conservatism.

To remove their spin factor, simply add the Tea Party percentages to the Republican percentages and you get the total Conservative percentages.

.....lies, damn lies and statistics?

So, there's no spin according to you in following the formula you set out above? So none of the Tea Party people are Republican? Double dip much?

Musicmystery -> RE: Dems advised to embrace the politics of personal destruction (1/7/2010 8:48:20 AM)

And again, the assumption that all Republicans are Conservatives.

The real world is not left and right. It's mostly moderates. Complicates things, yes, but reality will do that.

Everyone is talking about the Dems losing seats with people retiring, no one in the news is pointing out the fact that more GOP members have announced they will not be running for re-election next time around

There are 10 Dems retiring and 14 Gop'ers retring from the house.  So if the GOP says Dems are dropping like flies, what are they dropping like since they are losing more?

Now if we can replace those Dems and Repubs with Independants what a message that would send to Washington!

Musicmystery -> RE: Dems advised to embrace the politics of personal destruction (1/7/2010 8:58:36 AM)

More importantly, members of Congress would start talking to each other and working out effective compromises to address national issues.

popeye1250 -> RE: Dems advised to embrace the politics of personal destruction (1/7/2010 9:06:13 AM)

Our congressman, Henry Brown isn't running again, if an Independant runs in the district they'll get my vote and a few dollars.

We just elected one, albeit one who ran on the Dem ticket--beating out Palin/Beck's choice of the "right" kind of Republican.

We decided we liked someone who was actually familiar with the needs and concerns of the district.

Sanity,

adding the teabaggers homogenously at best it might make them all fucktards or fiscal conservatives.

doesnt make all their politics conservative, nor does it make them metaphysical geniuses either, and from what I have seen of teabaggers.......they are mental privation conservatives.

Music, that's what it's all about, *Listening* to the constituents!
Everytime I see Pelosi on t.v. dodging questions about why the healthcare debates aren't on "C-SPAN" like Obama told us they'd be and she says, "we need to do this for the American People, I get the sense that they're doing it, "to" the American People!
Why would she be trying to "hide" things from the American People?
Hopefully she'll be gone in November as well. Just by listening to her speak you can tell she's not very intelligent.
Simple communication seems to be a struggle for her.

Ron, one would think that *all* Taxpayers would be "fiscal conservatives."
Ok, you guys keep going, I'm off to Costco to gas up the Lincoln and increase my "carbon footprint" and maybe they have a sale on ammo.

housesub4you -> RE: Dems advised to embrace the politics of personal destruction (1/7/2010 10:01:32 AM)

Here here, I agree, I think they all should be voted out, and then term limits set in place.

But it will not happen, no one gives up that much power and money for the good of the country.  We have to vote their asses out, of course Lieberman proved you have to vote them out even if they lose the party ticket

No more than any random car driver might opt for fiscal conservation in a motorcar, I should think.

A romantic notion that ensures no one will ever know what they're doing.

Fiscal Conservatism isn't concerned with private spending or driving habits, Ron. It has to do with government policy, especially electing representatives who believe that the nation needs to live within its means, that most power belongs at the state level, and that primarily the people themselves should be responsible for their own welfare.

Fuck all to do with the values of any conservative politicians, then. You might as well try to get a Republican to establish a fund to pay for church white weddings for gay couples as to have any of them go along with that.

At least it used to, before 1980.
