Just make sure your not snowed under with other thoughts and concerns when driving. Laughs . Because seriously you could be skating on thin ice if you are. But you all probably know that. Dont speed . Be careful. Its cold out there. Stay safe. But above all enjoy it while it lasts. In two weeks time the weather will revert to its usual and we will once, again, we , meaning Britain and Ireland will be complaining about our miserable rainy weather Kevin

Being a Canuck I am meant to be used to snow and ice but I am not. Layers is excellent. Rather be too hot and undo something than freeze. Of course wool and cashmere hold heat better than acrylic. Wool inserts in boots are cosy. Hot chocolate is good.

OK, I have read all the posts, and am still not getting the concept here. Why would anyone live in a place where it gets so cold the rain actually freezes? Snow is something you drive up to, and come home from. It is something that Disneyland shoots over Main Street in December, what they paint on top of the Matterhorn. It is the stuff they spray on your Christmas tree when you buy it. You aren't supposed to live in the damn stuff.

ahh Sanity - you bring back such memories for me! Years ago, must have been around 88/89, it snowed quite a bit here and on the Monday when we got to work all the drivers had managed to come in and the trucks had all gone. The boss meanwhile had decided to "work from home", which in those days was a euphemism rather than a reality. We had a yard about the size of four football pitches - a small Ford Fiesta van and a tanker full of fuel. We got absolutely no work done that day, but it was time well spent; not only brilliant fun skidding, sliding and turning this poor tortured van as we sped round the yard like rally drivers but the only realistic way to learn about driving on snow and ice. As a side note, its part of the driving test - you have to spend six hours learning on a skid pan- in Finland; one of the reasons they turn out so many brilliant drivers no doubt. E

I'm frikkin' allergic to the stuff (seriously, I am. I have to take allergy meds if I know I'm going to be stuck outside in the cold) and he wants to drag me to where it's colder where I keep going "Ya know... Florida is nice!". [:'(]
