ORIGINAL: stella41b Peon Can you not get segs then out West? You know, the little kidney shaped metal plates you used to be able to get at Woolies and you just step on them and they attach themselves to your soles. Not only do they grip but put 2-3 of them on the toe and heel of each foot and you can have yourself a little tap-dancing routine. Or how about some football boots? st. Are these the things also known as 'Blakeys'? If so, I'm not sure they'd be much use, Stella. They're quite flat, aren't they? Besides, since Woolies went under, I've not seen them elsewhere. I think I do need things that are perhaps football-boot-shaped, though smaller. I've got a pair of crampons, but I think that's overkill as yet. I think I'll try Wilkinson's for some nail-in tacks, bending up the edges of the tacks after I've whacked them in.
