I came across this in another thread, it was only mentioned with no clarification. It seems rather self explanatory but could anyone supply a bit more information on the subject?

Basically it is a site geared towards masters and slaves where the slave registers and is assigned a slave number with a profile detailing ownership, basic personal info, lifestyle interest, etc. Also masters do sign up to the site also. Any more info I could give would be based on my own negative opinion of that site and this isn't the place to discuss.

It's some website where you can register yourself as a slave when you join and you get some random number. Some people take it really seriously. Valyraen and I... we aren't fans of the idea of randomly assigned numbers but it works for others so... *shrugs*

Yep, there are others around, but that's the site: www.slaveregister.com.
The main argument for this site is that your slave can be marked with this number or barcode, which makes it possible to attribute him to another Mistress when needed. When taken over by a new owner, there's no need to erase an old tatou.
The slrn-number is personal, meaning that it's the slave who fills in the data.

And it truly is a random assignation of numbers or is it in a chronological increase? It seems like a rather basic concept but it seems to me that the number doesn't do any good unless of course the whole of the BDSM community assign to the concept and keep a listing of which slave is registered to which owner.

Hmmm.... I think i may have to take a look just out of curiousity but i reserve judgement. Thanks for the info everybody, I appreciate it.

I can't say I have ever given it a sliver of thought.. and there isn't any such thing as the "whole of the BDSM community", a lot of people aren't into slaves.

At www.sklavenzentrale.com you can choose your number, as long as it is not taken by somebody else, but the site is in german and they do not plan to change that.

the number assignment thingy is that random. i signed up on there wanting to use my name but it gave me a number instead. i dont take the number seriously and i have no desire to have it barcoded across my behind - thankyou!

- i just saw it as part of the deal really.

some of the threads on there are interesting and its much more Ms than bdsm.

The site involves so much more than just randomly being assigned a number. A couple of years ago, I used to read and post there regularly and I learned alot from some very intelligent, committed people. As with any site, including this one, there's lots of random ramblings and nonsense on occasion. There was alot less of it there than most other sites I've seen. Look past the issue of the "number" and do some reading and you may be very surprised at what you'll discover.............luci

The number assigned is not random, you simply have to understand how the system works to get the number you desire.

I had in my old profile a combination of significant dates for me and my husband.

Assuming lally2 answers really concerning Sklavenzentrale.com, a german website.

the site wouldn't officially endorse that kind of thing...too many potential legal problems later. if by chance someone who got such a barcode that was suggested or endorsed by the site and later on they were found beaten to death or something by some nutjob psychopathic dom, the cops would be looking at what the sites involvement was, given the barcode. In short, its for 'entertainment purposes' only. Its not actually meant to be taken seriously.
