The reason one might look back to where they came from could be to alleviate trauma still affecting the present. The past is not the past if it is still in the present. Smashing it down, kicking it out because the person does not want to look is a personal choice. It is not for everyone to be on the same path so we all find our own unique way along our way. Some people claim looking back is a waste of time, negative, cowardly even, are usually people who are not in love with the idea of emotional expression. Having a presentation of coolness, calmness is more important in these cases usually. Sometimes these people claim they dont feel so called negative emotions. To me, I see a clamped down mind over the emotional body, trying to control the emotions no matter what. Emotions expressing freely is the ticket. The more one feels to allow this would create chaos and destruction are holding quite a bit down already. I am not saying acting out, I am saying in the privacy of your own car, bedroom where there is the space to go into these feelings alone, or with a trusted someone else, who understands the benefits. Past life stuff coming up can allow for emotional movement that did not happen then so it can complete itself. Freeing the emotions can create new understandings, compassion and clear the air, the body from the tension required to hold it in however unconsciously. Let's say I died and felt no one heard my story, let's say I died a horrid death, that being part of my history would mean at some point it would be best if I shine some loving light in there and see what is up. Doing this all privately is a really good way to ensure someone who is more aligned with holding emotions down and in wont be able to throw out a reflection of intolerance. We all did nasty things, we all have done beautiful things, for the most part we are all trying to be our best to move ahead and have a life we truly want and desire. Being someone famous in a past life or being a neglected abused slave or peasant is all valid information. We are very naive as a society about these areas and often act silly, uncomfortable, intolerant and on alert when it is brought up. I am not worried about all the splits of opinions. People getting called names, made fun of, and all of it, it doesnt matter, it will come out in the light at some point, there is no need to prove anything. I go by my instincts and like it when others do the same. My path is my path. I happen to feel and believe that people who can look into the past with the intent to heal themselves from inherited genetics, imprinting that is entrenched in misunderstanding, and the loving space to heal and move all trauma is pretty solid and a good road to go down.
