FetishFeline0911 -> Being collared (1/8/2010 8:43:25 PM)

I'm just asking for opinions, what would it mean to you if you collared your sub?  I do know when you collar someone, it means you belong to them.  But for someone who is collared, what does it mean psychologically to you?  Physically to you?  I know what it means for me, but looking for other's opinions.

Thank you.

Ashcroft -> RE: Being collared (1/8/2010 8:50:07 PM)

A collar to me is similar to an engagement ring or wedding ring. To collar someone you agree to be there for them, support them, teach them and love them. To help them in their hard times and rejoice with them in the good times. To help them grow and learn and continue to better themselves and the people around them.

MasterFireMaam -> RE: Being collared (1/8/2010 8:52:48 PM)

Over the years, collars have become more and more significant and relationship oriented than fun and play oriented. If We collar someone now, it means We own them, the intent being for life. If that doesn't happen, however, there's no fault and we part ways amicably, if at all possible.

Ownership and commitment.

AcademyForSlaves -> RE: Being collared (1/8/2010 9:06:38 PM)

Hi.

When I collar a sub it means I own that sub as my property. Period. That sub's life now belongs to me. The sub has to ask me for permission for everything.

Hope this helps.

ForeverOwned -> RE: Being collared (1/9/2010 4:31:07 AM)

It just means everything to me. When i wear it i also feel proud and safe, loved and owned. i also have a feeling of accomplishment, because it took me two years to earn it and earn it i did.

nephandi -> RE: Being collared (1/9/2010 4:35:30 AM)

Greetings

While I was a slave the collar was a very important symbol for us. Being in a collar made me feel safe, loved and protected. I found myself fondling the collar as one might fondle a wedding ring. Now for me it was not the physical collar which where important, we actually had several for different looks, but the symbol of the collar itself was what was important. Now that I am free we have kept the collars, I am a goth and I now use them as fashion items. But there are times when I find myself fondeling the collars dreaming back to when I was a slave.

I wish you well

I collared her just over one year ago.....to me it means:
Control - She does what I say.
Commitment - Monogamy for both of us
Balancing family and career....we're at the center of each other's lives.
I love her

All four have to exist for me to consider collaring someone.

Aileen1968 -> RE: Being collared (1/9/2010 4:47:47 AM)

It means that he owns me. In my mind it's equal to being married and I would be quite content wearing his collar for the next 40 years.

Aileen1968 -> RE: Being collared (1/9/2010 4:49:12 AM)

Ha. He just posted.
And I thought he was gonna say it meant I was his personal whore.... [:)]

Whilst I for one wouldn't even collaring a sub, when I do however collar a slave it shows that we have reached a definitive point in the relationship. At this point the slave is either the property of Bruin Cottage (House Collar), or my personal property and as such will be either the first girl/house keeper or my Aid d'Com. In any case we are past the probationary stage and the slave is integrated into my family and accepted by Lady Neets, Rara and Storm (resident Husky/Malamute female and male Malamute). It also means that the bonds of trust are forming and personal bonds are already forming too. Such a person is indeed a treasure but never mollycoddled.

FetishFeline0911 -> RE: Being collared (1/9/2010 1:07:07 PM)

Thank you all for your responses....everything is very helpful.

AquaticSub -> RE: Being collared (1/9/2010 1:10:15 PM)

It is a commitment. I made a commitment that promises to take the relationship seriously and what sort of relationship it will be. He made the same to me.
