I've had mine do the 0-60 between 8 and 9 seconds, but only when I'm spot on with the shifting and road conditions. The trick for me is to get the car moving without spinning the tires. Once they start losing grip, the quick run goes out the window.

2002 PT Cruiser with 5-speed manual here. Searched high and low that year for a manual tranny equipped Cruiser. Finally found one after visitng six Chrysler dealers in the Tampa Bay area. All, except that one, were automatics which were not only problematic for that model year but were almost too slow for the 40-70 acceleration onto highways.

About 6 seconds. VW Passat wagon, all wheel drive, 6 cylinder. Eats gas but lord is it a dream. 9 years old and still in great condition.

Mine is a Ford Escort diesel sedan. If i should have anything bigger it would be a Landrover Defender Diesel. So i don't really care for the 0 - 60 race. But the funniest i ever drove was a 1971 Landrover 109 series 3. 4 km /liter if you were a real nice guy. I loved that thing to bits. But i think it was about a minute to get 60 to mph. But it would go over stones, mud and sand which would have destroyed any of that stuff mentioned by other posters.

I can push it in about 9.  It's a heavy old beast, 1989 Audi 100E.  However, its 40-100 is around 7 seconds, add about 4 more to 140-145, and still accelerating.  God I love that 5 cyl. scirocco engine.

No, not the most impressive looking car on the road, not the hottest sports car, but man, what a sleeper.  I love my car so much.

Mine will do it in under 6 seconds, its an American car with factory supercharger, and most people do not even know what it is.

The M3 easily in 6-10. Although I have to admit I've not tried to shift faster. That is the key for me, the shifting. I tend to baby it so I don't have to deal with transmission problems in the future. The bitch is expensive enough just to maintain, I don't even want to think of repairing something.

Ooooh, I LOVE the M3.  Was my dream car for many many years, until the Audi R8 came along.  Still sits a damn close second though.  Especially pre 2006.  I just love the lines and the style, and the fact that they're an absolute dream to drive.

Wonder who has the less than 6 seconds car? Wonder if they'd like a house guest for a while?

Aha - answered in the crossover of posts! Diane - when can I come and stay and should I bring my own pillow cases?

More interesting though is that so far only choice 1 and 2 have been selected at all; perhaps those with a lack of vehicular motivation have a lack of voting motivation

I have a vintage, Lotus Elan, I am not sure if it is under 6 seconds, but I think it is very close to it. Right now it is laid up for the winter, and I am using my Cadillac Seville which I am sure will do 60mph in under 6 seconds.

Hmm can I say I have my dream car- an XKR a few months old- at the moment with snow and ice I would think 10 mins lol but normally 0-62 is about 4.2 secs

purepleasure -> RE: how quick is your car 0-60? (1/10/2010 4:47:15 AM)

For the Sable, depends on how high the hill is, and if there's anything in the way coming down said hill.

The Stratus can go from 0 to 60 in about 8 seconds.
