I find myself using that phrase and my Northern friends just blink going "What now?". The same way people people go "Huh?" when I forget that not everyone is familiar with Quakers and I say "Friend speaks my mind".

i totally know what You mean, i was born and raised in Michigan, and have lived the past 26 years in Virginia. So when i visit home, they say i sound southern ...and everyone here thinks i sound northern LOL...

(And yes, that is about where the family is from. Sadly for me, my folks moved away shortly before I was born. But I still grew up with nice Creole/Southern cookin'. G-d no wonder I got fat... [;)])
