I wonder how his stance is on tax problems now?  Remember, no such thing as a mistake and no excuses.  I am sure he is sticking to that line as much as Rush forgot his stance that all drug addicts should be locked up.

Hello sexy.

Beck is a rodeo clown.

Sanity -> RE: So Mr Beck? (1/12/2010 6:00:16 AM)

Reading the article shows that the "offenses" were all very minor, accountants used the wrong form once, etc. The worst offense was a payment that was a little overdue.

Hillwilliam -> RE: So Mr Beck? (1/12/2010 6:26:15 AM)

Hunk, you just insulted rodeo clowns.  Those are some of the bravest SOB's you will ever see and they save lives on a weekly basis.

So because a radio talk show host's cpa fudges on his taxes, it's ok for 1/2 the current administration's cabinet members to be crooks, liars & tax cheats?

Of course not: it's always been a given that that is acceptable in American politics.

AsmodaisSin -> RE: So Mr Beck? (1/12/2010 9:08:04 AM)

See, but this is the double-standard you see everywhere between the parties.  A republican cheats on his wife or some such thing, and he's forced to resign by his own party.  The republican party is SUPPOSED to be a party of morals and the like.  They generally (not always) hold themselves to a much higher standard and because of that higher standard, the consequences of such digressions is much greater.  A democrat does it and it's all good.  It's not a big deal.

Glenn Beck makes a few mistakes, and y'all call for his balls on a platter, but quite a few of the appointees and potential appointees for Obama's cabinet owe hundreds of thousands of dollars in back taxes, and it's all okay.

Harry Reid says something rather racist, but it's okay because Obama forgave him.  BUT...if someone like Trent Lott said something about a known segregationist (2002), they want to gank him out of his position.

The list really does go on and it's sickening. Is Glenn Beck unaccountable for his mistakes?  Of course he should be held accountable. The question is then, who else should be taken aside and forced to be held accountable?

Beck is a schill that uses NLP just like most of mainstream news.

He is a phony.

I wont get into his past- but he really should be more greatful for pulling thru it.

Hillwilliam -> RE: So Mr Beck? (1/12/2010 10:22:55 AM)

Ive gone into his past in these posts and you are right.  It took guts to admit he had a problem (unlike Rush).  I dont support him but any man that can beat addictions did well.

I guess one cant blame him- too much for doing what mainline media does.. it is not just him.  That is the tried and true formula for scoring the ratings.

well- until the media demands a bail out and we nationalize it....

1/2 is awfully generous.

Should be at least 7/8.

I think that 3/5s would be a much more accurate number...if you get my drift.

But so to were some of the things he blasted people for.  Remember his stance, no excuses, no mistakes, you are responsible no matter what.  it doesn't matter if your accountant submitted a wrong form or missed something, Your Guilty.

Did that just apply to everyone else?  By his own statements he is now an  tax cheat with no excuses.  Somehow I think he will forget he said that, the same Rush forgot he called for all drug addicts to be locked in prison.

lol,  oh yeah, he never suggested people who buy drugs should be locked up as a way of solving the problem,  youi have to thin k back he's been on the air a long time now.

Direct racist comments, no he's to smart, leaning statements with direct undertones,  oh yeah.  Hell the comment he made on ESPN about Donovan McNabb  was racist at its core.  Don't try and pretty them up after whil her does the innocent,  "Whtat not me I would never?"

You need to learn the definition of racism apparently. It wasnt even close.

...well, a ten minute google session couldn't find the exact quote. However, i did find this....

"And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up."

Attributed to Rush, from his TV show on 10/5/95

http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=1159

.....absolutely true that it isn't exactly the same words popularily attributed to him, but means basically the same thing.

Hope that helps.

....well, that isn't to say he has never made a racist comment.

"Take that bone out of your nose and call me back."

Response to a black caller he was having a hard time understanding in the 1970s when he worked under the name "Jeff Christie" on a top-40 music program in Pittsburgh, as quoted in Newsday (8 October 1990) where he expresses some remorse at having said it.

http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Rush_Limbaugh

......have to say he did apologise apparently, much later. Just like Reid.
