I don't think a glass of wine or a few sips of cider do anything more than relax you. I agree that getting rat assed is irresponsible. We don't drive when we are over the limit for good reason! we shouldn't play either.

Depends on the specifics of the scene. I've played while intoxicated, even shit-faced, several times. I lived. The top was intoxicated too. Have no emotional scarring. I had fun. I'll probably do it again as well.

Now, would I do knife-play intoxicated? Nah... athough I did do fire-play.

It's a calucated risk. If I get hurt while scening cause I'm intoxicated, I made that choice. If I crash while driving intoxicated, I affect others who made no choice in the matter.

I'm not encouraging anyone to run out, get drunk and then scene. But if that's a choice someone wants to make, they feel comfortable with it and they are aware of the risks... *shrugs* It's their choice. I've meet people whose kink was to be forced to drink so booze is a part of their scenes.
