I didn't make the Ferngully connection when I watched it but I can make the connection now!

Still, I LOVED the movie, my boys loved the movie.  Gotta love a chick flick with action and heavy equipment and firepower.

It seemed to follow a cliche. Many animated plots are like that.

I love loved loved loved Avatar! Yes, the plot was simple- it was very Pocahontas as a poster said earlier. The ultimatum the Marine gives the hero is really corny and feels forced after a while. However.. the visuals were like [sm=hearts.gif][sm=jaw.gif]... I don't normally like smilies but that's hwo I felt about it!! I could sit there for hours watching the land of Pandora. Amazing! And I didn't even see it in 3D.. I had to see it with open captioning because I am deaf. You could clearly tell what was meant to be 3D.. I might go see it in 3D because it's a wonderful movie without words!

I love Sigourney Weaver!

We went again last night. Sinergy saw it without imax, and twice with it... 3d makes this movie all encompassing and engrossing...

Does it? I think since I've seen it I'll know what they're saying.

Well, time to bump this ol thread I guess.....no real reason,
just
board
right
now
and
I
Just saw Avatar, a buddy pirated a Korean subtitled copy, so I couldn't understand a word of what ever the "super smurf/Gorgonite/hulk" things said when they were talk'n their "Electonicgadgit" speak(I call it that cause aiwa is the name of a really shitty electronic and sound system manufacture, and half of what they said sounded like"soney soney, walkman")but I think that made the movie experience alot better lol, not like it really mattered, the story was bout as predictable as what direction the sun rises in lol

*Just Bout dropped the Bong laughing when the baddies said "time to start operation shock and awe".... Guess the writers said "fuck trying to be subtle, if they don't get what simile we're trying to make here, well, we'll beat them over the head with it"

couldn't get over how all the creatures had usb wires stick'n outa there heads either lol

Gotta admit thou, pretty movie, and the action moves on pretty smoothly.. and they went all out on the bad guy
But I'm glad I didn't see it in a theatre, my constant satire woulda got'n me in a fight probably...and it synced up better when no one could read the subtitles anyway lol

*and just as a side note, I'd never condone the use of illegal substances, I was just using the, eh hm, bong fer..um....tobacco purposes

Lucylastic -> RE: Avatar - The movie (2/17/2010 4:31:42 PM)

Ive just watched it, ..yes I will admit not in the cinema, but on a 22inch monitor...and Im making plans to go and see it in 3d and Imax....Ive searched the web and got a new background wallpaper of the forest at night...gorgeousssss
What a great adult fern gully, the only thing the adult version that was missing was
Tim Curry( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PLQ1XfaTuU )  and
Robin Williams ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXSsagwvo3M&feature=related )
Altho the musical numbers wouldnt have worked in Avatar...

Loved the movie....
