snlforu -> Why do people have to treat new members like crap?!?! (1/12/2010 9:43:22 PM)

We are new here and have only been on here not even a day and people are basically scoring me for not knowing everything about the site!
I find this very off putting for this site!

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: Why do people have to treat new members like crap?!?! (1/12/2010 9:57:20 PM)

Why are new users too lazy to read the forum guidelines or use the search feature to make sure they aren't violating the rules by posting personal ads in the wrong section or making a post on the same topic 8 other people have brought up in the same week?  Why can't new users use the search feature, or Google for that matter, to research their very basic questions such as what the differences are between bottom/sub/slave or top/dom/master?  Why do new users get pissy when told to get off their lazy bums and do their own work instead of expecting to be spoonfed answers?

Oh, and ftr, no one is "scoring" you.  In both of your other posts, you posted a personal ad in multiple sections of the board and were politely informed that those areas of the board were not the appropriate place for your posts.  The person who informed you of this was trying to do you a favor by letting you know that you'd done something against the Forum Guidelines.  The moderators will either move your post or delete it.  You should be thanking the person who tried to help you out instead of acting like a spoiled child who isn't getting her way.

Well maybe because I am a VERY busy person!
My time is mostly consumed by my 2010 Modeling tour!
And on top of that I am preparing wigs, designing clothes for the tour, and scheduling gigs if i get an open spot!

If years of occassional visits to these forums has taught me anything, it's that OP isn't wrong. You people treat newbies like shit.

If you're too busy to read the rules of the forum you joined or accept advice from those who have been on the forum for far longer than you, you're under no obligation to use it.  Please feel free to turn off your computer and go about your business.  No one here would dream of faulting you for taking your busy self elsewhere.

Good luck to you and have a nice day.

If you don't have the time to read the rules of your groups, perhaps the solution is to stop joining till you do have time. A real time group wouldn't consider being busy an excuse for not being aware of the rules.

It's the vanilla ice cream cone, it's like a target for us,.... er...I mean those fucking sadists!
Don't worry, when people get to know you it'll be better.

If you think people are being cruel and out-of-line, report them. Trust me, the mods do get involved and they don't play favorites.

Well, it will be better if you stop stamping your feet like a petulant child.  If you don't...well, osf's threads are a good example of what happens.

Perhaps you haven't realized, but no personal ads are on this part of Collerme.  This is something you might have put in the Introduce Yourself forum.

This part of Collarme is for asking and answering questions.

is what you are referring to, i REALLY fail to see the attack.

DCWoody -> RE: Why do people have to treat new members like crap?!?! (1/12/2010 10:38:02 PM)

If you'll note, I made that comment before your comments here, and I haven't seen the other threads OP is talking about. It was an observation about general practice round here, not a comment on any one specific thread, comment, or person.

AQuietSimpleMan -> RE: Why do people have to treat new members like crap?!?! (1/12/2010 10:41:49 PM)

Okay OP.

There are SOOOOOOO many things wrong with everything you have presented on this site it is hard to know where to start.

1) You post an ad for a person in a forum that is for polyamorous discussion. you don;t even have to read the guidelines when you found the board it said what it was for in the basic descrition.

2) You say you are into the Mommy Daddy aspect and are more involved with yourself then you seem to have the ability to offer to a submissive.

3) You are on a modeling tour!!!!! what time do you even have to dedicate to a submissive?

So in reality what you are looking for is a fuck toy for the guy.......... Yeah we're treating you like shit.

enjoy your stay or ask for you money back.

Really? I joined in June '08 and warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. Of course, that may have something to do with the fact that I read the rules, TOS, guidelines, and many threads before opening my yap to do other than introduce myself. I also *gasp* used the search function before starting new threads, and thanked those who pointed out when I made an error on what or where I posted, instead of playing "poor newbie" as some are wont to do.

Having been on many different forums, I'm here to tell ya: Every one of them has people who claim that newbies are treated like shit, no matter how much the members try to coddle them.

Yes, but USUALLY when the initiation hazing is over...and if you didn't fold like a pussy house of cards...
Yer in like Flynn baby....[:D] but yeah...its no secret most new folks have it hard at 1st.

snlforu -> RE: Why do people have to treat new members like crap?!?! (1/12/2010 10:51:19 PM)

I wasn't treated like shit.  But then, maybe it's because I spent a couple of months lurking, so that I could see how things worked before I opened my metaphorical mouth.  If new people get treated like shit, it's probably not because they're new.

Couldn't agree with Stef more, although I would add ignorant to stupid. I rarely see an OP or new member 'attacked' (and for "attacked" please substitute mocked, because that's what it usually is) who doesn't deserve it.

Although a long time member of the site , I'm a relatively new poster and I didn't begin my posting with either:

1. A trolling advertisement for my Uber Domliness
2. A bitch about fakes, scams etc
3. A pathetic imploration to view and criticque my profile.
4. An earthshattering personal philosophy of what real BDSM is, including an analysis of what everyone else is doing wrong.

Amazingly enough, I've found my welcome (for the most part warm and hospitable) has tended to reflect this.

There are always exceptions, but that's life.
