Haiti is a shithole. No doubt about that. But in my experience in any shithole lives a lot of decent human beings as well, just trying to survive the best they can. They are the ones i thought about when i did send a donation. Also remember, that any country has at sometimes in its history, could be considered a shithole. To me it is so nice when i see one of those shitholes i visited 20 - 30 years ago in Africa today suddenly starts emerging as places worth living in. I did see a documentary on Mocambique and Angola a while back and it really made me smile and renew my hope for those countries. The sad thing is that we often only hear about the hunger, disaster and corruption in the third world. When they start shows of progress they seem to disapear out of the mainstream news.

You are absolutely correct I DID miss the word "believe" in my response. But here in the U.S. we all know that race basically refers to mainly "whites" and "blacks" nothing else matters. Color has more to do with what we call race than anything else. Why is it that Obama is considered African-American? Why not Caucasian? His mother, as we all know, is white. Tiger is considered African-American even though 1/2 of his ethnic make up is Chinese. It is because of the color of their skin and nothing else. My point is that race, in and of itself , does not exist and therefore should, in my opinion, be taken out of our language.

As they say these days, "it is what it is." That isn't a judgement call it's the truth. The last time I was there was 1985 and it was real bad then, they say it's gotten a lot worse. And I have no problem with my country helping out in cases like this or the Tsunami disaster etc. And yes the world is the world is sending them help. What's the problem with that? And how do I sound more like Pat Robertson "by the minute?" Polite, Pat Robertson is a nutty "holy roller," I'm not even "religious! If I met him I'd have him cowering in the corner with my foul "sailor mouth." For a supposedly "man of God" he (and others like him) seem to like to talk more about "the devil" than they do "God." Polite, I have nothing but contempt for people like Pat Robertson. And anyone who believes his bullshit is fucking stupid. I just kind of figured that I've been in CM for a few years now and I'm very open and honest (at least I try to be) so maybe people would kind of have an idea of what I think. I don't believe anything that idiots like Pat Robertson have to say. Oil and water.
