I had no trouble because I post on other message boards that are so lightly moderated that it amounts to no moderation (only spam is removed). I also am of the opinion that a message board should be moderated lightly, in order to find its balance, with as little interference as possible, and that people who are adults, in cyberland should not navigate message boards unless they are prepared to face: hazing and uncomfortable moments. I went through a hazing at one of my favorite message boards and I have been a comfortable member there ever since, because I held up to it, answered back and did not whine, people who behave like that are shown the door thru peer pressure.

As for me, I never felt like I had to earn my place here. I figured I had as much of a right to be here as anyone else. For a brief while I was more involved one of the very nice but clique-ier threads and as much as I enjoyed the camaraderie, the thought that other people were likely feeling excluded caused me to quietly back away.
