I agree, the invisible fibres are the clicher for expert walker status. I once walked for 3 hours through the baking hot desert on the outskirts of the Serengeti, herding a goat, wrapped head to toe in 3 tartan shawls and about 3kg of beaded jewelry, with 1 litre of water plus anything I could find on the way that didn't look like wet mud, never tripped once. And I still fell over my feet this morning when I got out of bed. I try to blame it on the kittens, but it's hard when my bedroom door is closed.
