This is really bad, seeing you show up here. Really, its not like these boards need any more stupid on them.

Yeah, you've clearly got that angle covered for the foreseeable future.

Look into it a little bit and you will find that Limbaugh was mocking Democratic Senate majority Leader Harry Reid, when Reid said that Obama was an acceptable negro to run for president because he was light skinned and didn't have a black dialect unless he wanted one.

Thats what started this whole thing. Now we're down to, Limbaugh might have said something around 1970... but its not really verified.

So Rush didn't make those comments about Haiti everybody's spent 15 pages whining about, then?

That's not what he said.

Trust Rush to taint it. Trust you to parrot it.

Nope. A transcript of something he said on a radio broadcast doesn't prove that he ever said anything of the sort. It's a pity nobody told Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross that last year...

Lucylastic -> RE: Rush Drawing fire for his haitian comments (1/18/2010 3:46:03 PM)

Did you not see where he used Reid an an excuse ONLY the day after getting called out , its called back peddling and damage control and anyone that buys it is as dumb as a post

Another one?  We've been hearing from you for a while now.  How are your Stormfront buddies doing up there in militia land?

Thats pretty much exactly what he said, but he apologized to Obama so its alright.

And besides, he's a Democrat so he can be a certified card-carrying KKK member (white hood and all) and still qualify for his NAACP card.

Here we go again.

That ain't exactly, now, is it.

A call on electability and judging who's acceptable are very different indeed.

Sanity -> RE: Rush Drawing fire for his haitian comments (1/18/2010 3:51:58 PM)

It doesn't matter what he said if he's a Democrat, does it. He can attend a racist church for twenty years and still qualify for their nomination to the highest office in the land, can't he. Be practically worshiped in fact!

Well, only Rush can judge that reliably, can't he? That's what Sanity's got his knickers in a twist about in the first place...

Musicmystery -> RE: Rush Drawing fire for his haitian comments (1/18/2010 3:54:51 PM)

And here we are again.

With no defense left, a change of topic to different issues.

Do you get dizzy?

He is the oozulum bird of CM
dammit I forgot to add the wikipedia explanation
The Oozlum bird, also spelled Ouzelum, is a legendary creature found in Australian and British folk tales and legends. Some versions have it that, when startled, the bird will take off and fly around in ever-decreasing circles until it manages to fly up itself, disappearing completely, which adds to its rarity.Other sources state that the bird flies backwards so that it can admire its own beautiful tail feathers, or because while it does not know where it is going, it likes to know where it has been[link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oozlum_bird#cite_note-Brewer.27s-1][/link]

For the purists, the exact quote:
quote:

The authors quote Reid as saying privately that Obama, as a black candidate, could be successful thanks, in part, to his "light-skinned" appearance and speaking patterns "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."

"He [Reid] was wowed by Obama's oratorical gifts and believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama -- a 'light-skinned' African American 'with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,' " Halperin and Heilemann say. "Reid was convinced, in fact, that Obama's race would help him more than hurt him in a bid for the Democratic nomination," they write.

In a statement to CNN, Reid said, "I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words." "I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African Americans for my improper comments.
