I have 3 pics on my profile, none of my face. I don't for professional reasons and no passive agressive idiot like the one refered to in the OP is going to bully me into throwing away a phenomenal career ;-)

Amen to that! I'm not going to put pictures of myself on a profile for anyone in the world to see. If a connection is made with someone, a picture can always be sent to them personally when the time is right. Putting them there to be found by anyone at anytime just doesn't make sense for me. I don't care who likes it or doesn't. I'm not going to risk anything good in my life to do it when it's simply not worth it. Kudos to those who can plaster their smiling faces everywhere with no risk. I just don't have it like that.............luci

I recently had to remove my picture ... someone recognized me ... the old saying that they were there too notwithstanding, I pulled the face pic. Sigh.

<----that is my face.
ok but seriously, I tell people I am their worst walmart-fat-lady-bad-hair-and-teeth.polyester-wearing skank you will ever see and they dont believe me.
It's true.
But I won't post a pic here because of my job...end of story.

Part two, I know someone that was fired after a disgruntled ex-submissive printed out his AOL profile and mailed it to his employer.

Ouch!

Who cares if you have a pic up?  I think a bigger concern would be getting women to take you seriously with that username.

Not kidding.

Mhh...Would women take me seriously if I was taller? Read more? Had a different hair colour? Spoke a different language? Was of a different physical build?

If anyone is going to judge me solely by six letters put together to reflect me in an online world, when I live and operate in a real world, then I really don't mind if they don't take me seriously.

Not kidding.

I saw on a profile today that someone believed that if you can't post a photo of yourself on such a site, then you're in either the wrong profession or the wrong lifestyle.

Ignore the flag wavers. They are only trying to distract you form their other flaws.

Fast reply-

Helpful suggestion- breast pics instead of face pics...

I put my face photos in my profile, but not for my main pic. I go back and forth, I take them off and put them on.. A friend told me if anyone I know sees my picture it's because they at least have an intereste in the lifestyle. For someone to actually see my face, they would have to click on my profile and actually go into it. Still, I go back and forth on the issue.

I just can't see saying that if you are a school teacher you can't enjoy kink.

On the other hand, I do expect people to use their brains (I realize in some cases this is expecting way too much). There are ways to post pictures that show something without identifying yourself. For cryin' out loud, you're more likely to be outed from Facebook than you are from here.

Wear a mask. Have the photo taken from behind. Do a photo with dramatic light and dark so your face is obscured or hidden. Crop the photo so it doesn't show your face. Wear clothing enough so that distinctive tattoo is hidden. I mean, honestly, this isn't rocket science.

On the flip side, I think people are completely fuzzed in their thinking if they believe in a photo on the internet without supporting proof. As we all know, plenty of people post a pornstar photo and claim it's them (my favorite being the guys with fake female profiles). So if all they're going by is the photo, they're nuts.
