...how many pro-dommes are on this site. I realize it is part of this world and a needed occupation. There are those that just want that occassional beating...etc. One that really amazes me is the online money dommes. Are there really that many suckers. I, myself tried a pro-domme once. It was a wasted experience, because I controlled it. I left empty, got nothing from it. As a submissive, giving up control is part of what we are. It has to be real for me. Pro is not real...just a sidestep.

Eh, and your point is? I have absolutely no interest or need for a pro domme either, but I think it would be a huge waste of time for me to sit here and complain about their presence. Yes, some of them are money-sucking leeches. But some of them are respectful, courteous, and well-informed members of this "community." Based on reading exactly one message, I'm not sure I could say the same about you.

My point is "Judge the individual on his or her own merits." And quite whining!

I actually think pro-domme's positively contribute to the scene, the lifestyle, and community discussion boards like this.

Someone once said that if you pursued your passions, success would follow.  If a domme is truly passionate about domination, why not do it professionally?  They "share the wealth" of their experience.

Additionally, there are a lot of people who are not ready to jump into the lifestyle, and like the safety of simply having a professional session with no strings attached, so to speak.  That was the case for me for several years until I finally was able to take the plunge and transition into more of a lifestyle orientation.

I have no problem with pro dommes being on the site. They ARE a part of the bdsm community as well. Seems like quite a shame to ignore them when they drive a lot of what happens in the scene.

I have a lady friend who is thinking quite hard on going "pro"......is she real? You bet she is, she's been into this lifestyle for a number of years. Pro dommes and the scenes they construct for clients are what they are. Real human beings interacting. "Not real" as far as being genuine owner/slave relationships? Generally true, but many non-professional relationships fall in that category also.
 
Be happy. Find joy in your life day by day. If slipping a little kink into that life on occasion enriches you, do so. If pursuing a life of submission/dominance in every passing moment gives your time on earth more value, good deal.

When i attended by first play party (almost ten years ago now..oy!!!) i met an absolutely wonderful lady who was a pro-domme in NYC.  i've never met a kinder, more gracious lady -- she shared willingly with someone who was very, very green.  I'm not bi, had no need to avail myself of her services (and yes, i know there are a few dommes out in the world who are not as terrific as she is), but for the most part they are - in life and on the boards).  My point (sorry it took so long to get here..lol) is that it's the very diversity of our very own family here on CM that makes it so great, and an environment that makes it a terrific and safe place to learn without making those of who don't know very much . After a year or so reading these forums, i think it's where we can ask just about anything we darn well need to, and get an answer -- even if it's not always the one we want..lol.

So..welcome to the forums, and have some fun...who knows, you (and others) might actually learn something.

What amazes me is how many people come on here and whine...they whine about the Pro Dommes, they whine about the subs, they whine because no one writes them, they whine because too many people write them. They whine because people (gasp) lie to them.

This is the internet, there are thousands and thousands of people online, deal with the ones you like and ignore the rest, but for gods sake stop whining about it.

Again, ignorance isn't an excuse to be derogatory, nor dismissive.  By your own admission you state you've had one session with a pro dom...which tells me you are not at all qualified to speak with any authority on the dynamic of professional domination.  The relationship a client can have with the one he serves can be as real as any other. But no, based on your vast experience, it's not real, and its the dominatrix's fault, ergo all pro's are a waste of time. 
 
Ever consider you might have been the problem?  How do you know you can never have a real experience with a pro dom if you never have another.    
 
As my own wee side step, I'm the woman you're mother warned you about ... client or personal, if you are in my presence, you're the subservient one, you don't have any control to give up, it was done the moment you walked through my door.  The dynamic between pro dom and client does not have to be about the client in control at all.   Relationship, session, ownership, whatever ... the parameters are negotiated and agreed too ... pro dom or just dom ... the magic is in what I do within the parameters negotiated.  You might think you have control because you tell me you want 50 strokes of the cane, but how you get that cane, when, and why, is up to me...and how hard is up to me or how much your sissy butt can take before it stops whining about how pro doms aren't real.
 
So next time you think you know all there is to know about being a pro dom, thing again.
