Overall I did not think 2005 was the best year for films, nonetheless I felt there were two stunning movie moments that had me completely riveted. Those were:

1. From Crash

When Matt Dillion's (the policeman) character pulls Thandie Newton's character (Christine who is trapped) out from her burning car.

2. From King Kong

When Kong falls from the Empire State Building to his death in NYC.

P.S. I liked Crash but didn't like KK.

So, what were your most memorable movie moments from 2005?

Addendum:

3. The Chronicles of Narnia

When the Lion surrenders himself to the Witch in the Lion, the Witch, and Wardrobe.

(The runner up to #s 1 & 2.)

Well, it was more of a brief outdoor shot than an actual scene with acting in it: In "Capote" when the car comes to the prison where the two killers are waiting, trying to fight the death sentence against them. It's a brief shot or two of the outside of that grim, hulking place in the middle of winter. It looks like a cold, gray fortress in the middle of a desolate place in a grim season. As far as I'm concerned, the killers deserved to be there and to die there, but you couldn't help but feel sorry for anyone in that prison. We're all human, even the evil ones, and that shot, in that movie, showed it.

Crash
When the Black Movie guy faces down the police after he and his wife were humilated by Matt Dillons character

Brokeback Mountain
When Heath Ledger character walks into the alley after saying goodbye to his friend and this doubles over in the pain and anguish of unfulfilled love.
Also the scene in the tent was hot!

Didn't see too many films last year. Gotta get out there and do better!

Thanks,

Realized

Overall I felt Capote had a great "feel" to it, and you descibed it well.

Funny, my wife didn't get that scene. Men do that kind of thing when no one's looking, and as a rule others can't tell what's going on with us. That scene was all action and no words. You are dead on with this selection.
