You need to ask yourself, is this limit a phobia? hard limits are often phobias but then, like others have mentioned, you talk about being excited.
I had my phobia/hard limit worked on (over a very long period) and it was never exciting.
I would be interested to know if you can put the blindfold on yourself. I think that's a great suggestion.

Thank you everyone for the advice. Normally this would be something I would never consider pushing ever just because of the triggers that go along with it so I consider it a hard limit but something says I have to try it at least once knowing what may happen.

Then tread extremely carefully.

Does your Dom know what triggers this could push? Is he a calm patient sort of guy that is going to guide you through this and not push you if you just can't do it?

My personal experience...
What had started off (many years back) having a phobia of having a pillow put over my face, the phobia grew to not having any fabric put over my face. I couldn't even pull a snug jumper over my head and it had become ridiculous.
I classed it as a very hard limit and it still is. We worked on this phobia gently, patiently and persistently for a good six months and it was all with my encouragement and never him pushing me in anyway. I freed myself of the phobia which is great but it still has to remain a hard limit for obvious reasons.
If it is a fear that makes your heart rate sour then I think it should always remain a hard limit, even if you feel you have overcome it.
