Hey everyone. My name is Dameon and I'm new to the CM. I'm not new to D/s, but I have never taken it to the level of 24/7 TPE, which is what i'm looking for. I have a couple questions for the vets here.

1. Would you suggest I gain training in being a master before taking on a TPE slave, or find an experienced slave who can guide her new master in what she needs?

2. I am poly amorous and I have a long-term girlfriend. It is a vanilla relationship and she is wonderfully supportive of my choice to pursue a TPE slave, though she will have very little/ no interaction with the slave. This is my thing. Should my profile reflect that I am alone in looking for a slave, or is this a dom couple thing, even though the new slave will be dealing with me exclusively?

Thanks in advance for any advice and suggestions. I plan on being an active member even after I find my match.

Welcome. Here are My suggestions for you.

Do a search on the "Ask a Master" forum for anything related to the following keywords: "Inexperienced Master", "Young Master", and "Are All Dominants Masters". Then, go to the poly board and do the same for "New to Poly", "Adding A Third", and "V-type poly". Since you have a girlfriend, you may also be interested in a post that I wrote a while back called "How We Transitioned to Poly". Read every thread that comes up on the various topics so that you can get some background information. The research will help you in your lack of experience.

I suggest that you do what you are comfortable with. I guided my owner through this world because he wasn't comfortable with the other options we had at the time. If you are comfortable taking on a slave with experience be advised that some people are very against teaching their owners in regards to the lifestyle. Obviously I'm not but some people take a very negative view on it. Regardless, figure out your view on the subject and find someone who works with that.

If I were you, I would make your profile as a dominant male and then mention very close to the top to the profile that you are in a vanilla relationship and the details of what the sub/slave will need to know.

Beyond that, my advice is read up on the threads in the poly section and figure out if you are willing to take on women who are also in poly relationships. I think your odds will improve if you are willing to do that but a lot of people insist on unattached partners when they are looking for poly partners.

Thanks for all the advice and warm welcomes. I now have a stack of books on the lifestyle that I am devouring. This discussion group has gone a long way in showing me the broad spectrum of ideals, philosophies, and personalities contained in the BDSM community.
