In the lifestyle I have seen Dominants who have been rude and/or abusive to the subs/slaves of others, even within that person's own home.

If that happened to my sub, in my home, as her Dom I feel that it would behoove me to kick their asses. I'm not one for "protocol" in the slavishly ordered way it is described in some places; if a girl is my sub, she owes NOTHING to anyone else beyond what would be reasonably expected in terms of politeness and courtesy.

Ironically, I tried to come up with a topic that WAS different from the standard posts that I was reading.  The same topics seem to get hit on endlessly.  I saw it as a BDSM issue due to the fact that it was talking about the Alpha's role.  Yes, it would be fantastic if everyone was always polite but we all know that isn't always the case.

I started poking around on the web and found another article that tied into the theme written by someone in the leather community.  In it the Alpha had even more responsibilities.  I am fully aware that the role of an Alpha is defined within each relationship.  I just thought it would be interesting to see how others thought about a possible situation like this.  As I said from the beginning, these are not my views and I did not share my own opinion.  It was not meant at all for self aggrandizement.  It was simply a question that I thought would bring about some interesting answers.  I am always curious about how various relationships work and this gave me some interesting insights.

Why do people make things so complicated?
If you go to someones house, regardless of whether it's BDSM or not, you respect the rules of the people in that home.  It's got nothing to do with Masters and slaves, but the people who live there.
