Is this for real?

"The All-American Basketball Alliance announced in a news release Sunday evening that it intends to start its inaugural season in June and hopes Augusta will be one of 12 cities with a team.

"Only players that are natural born United States citizens with both parents of Caucasian race are eligible to play in the league," the statement said."

More to the point: is this legal?! The whole thing is hopefully doomed for failure, and the question of the legality will be moot.

Not sure about legality but its pretty much doomed. Very few people are going to buy tickets for something so blatantly racist.

Of course it's lebgeal. We live in a free country. As long as they don't accept any form of Taxpayer provided money, people are free to show their stupidity and their asses all they want, any way they want.

I'm grateful I live in a free country. I want the ass to out themselves so I can know who to aviod, instead of being legeally mandated to hide and practice subterfuge.

Basketball by short fat bald guys with their plumbers moons showing above thier shorts - at least that's the vision I get.

I love it when the idiots chose to do things that are tantamont to wearing a shirt that says, 'I'm an Idiot'. Thank goodness for our freedoms!

I doubt the score will be that high.  It's not easy to run up and down the court in their robes and those hoods really hamper your vision.

Whos going to sponsor anyone or what sort of company will sign them for endorsements?

Larry Bird class folks wont get outta bed for that sorta money. They will go play with Kareem et al.........lol, cant think of many names nowadays, buckets dont interest me much.

Quite a few years back the CEO of Pharmor, a couple of months before being arrested for fraud, backed a under six foot basketball league. There is a 'women only' World Bikini Football league.

Point is, have money and desire, you can start any league and set any criteria for participants. XFL - Arena Football - come to mind. Want to kill it? Don't go, pay for a ticket, or support the sponsors. QED!

Curious though - Are you similarly outraged and have the same incredulous attitude about the Miss Black America pageant?

I don't give more equal status to any group in consideration of bigotry and prejudice. I enjoy having it exposed because it enable me to see the person exposed. So many are agenda based in their abhorrence of prejudice rationalizing the same conditions when the specifics don't serve that agenda. A 'white only basketball league' - GREAT, something else, people and companies, to avoid. Who are the sponsors - Creosote cross suppliers and fitted white sheet manufacturers? Personally I'm grateful for the knowledge and insight any race based and biased group discloses about themselves and the people who support status quo bigotry and prejudice.

Why must you continually say such things? Though it be true that of late a few colored gals have gone on to win the title. For years the Miss America pageant was a lovely lilly white affair.

Take golf for example,  Should there be only "black" golf tournaments? For years it was common practice not to allow minorities access to these private clubs.

It's true that you can operate a private enterprise in the manner that you see fit.

It's sad that you are unable to see the robes through the hoods.

I read rumours online that the promoter behind this endeavour, Don "Moose" Lewis, is a member of the KKK. I didn't dig very far, so it's unconfirmed, although the idea alone should qualify him for a free lifetime membership of the Klan.
