Personally, I don't give a flying duck's fuck who John Edward's been fucking and fathering. But to the conservative media, of course, such matters are of the utmost importance (except, again, when one of their own is caught dipping his dick in some uncontracted waters).
I don't mean to imply that it's my business that he had an affair. I personally don't care who does what to whom. If he and Elizabeth hosted parties at Plato's retreat, I don't care. Once it's come to light, I find it important only in that he did NOT keep his word. I know politics are full of compromise. If he made a vow and didn't keep it, I find THAT important and it speaks to his character.
Elizabeth has spoken of the pain her mother had endured from infidelity and was very clear in her expectations of John's actions when she agreed to marry him. She expected monogamy.
