Huh?

Are you getting enough oxygen?

Obviously, you haven't been paying attention, as the failure to pass health care is being blamed on Republicans.

And of course, Howard Dean blaming George Bush for voter dicontent in MA.

Maybe it's just because they didn't understand their medium, and sucked at producing radio anyone wanted to listen to?

Are you always this insecure?

A business venture, already troubled and with a string of owners, is going out of business.

Seems cut and dry to me.

Personally I think NPR just stole their audience with their super-secret weapon, 'wait wait, don't tell me.' :)

It should have been expected from the start.

The far right are like sheep who need to flock together and be reminded they're right.  The far left can't agree on anything, so why would they tune into anything on a regular basis.

It really is a shame that the middle is such a scary place to both of those parties.

That's my guess. Or couldn't attract an audience. They've been in trouble right from the start.

I never heard it, even once. I'm an NPR guy.

NPR should be the next to go. Federal tax dollars should not be spent to keep a failing radio station on the air.

Actually, only a fraction comes from federal dollars. It's primarily listener supported.

I'll give up my NPR when you pry it from my cold, dead...ears.

Didn't translate so well. And my Heston is lacking.

NPR does get just 2% directly from federal funds, but they get an additional 50% indirectly. Stations that broadcast NPR get federal funds and they are passed on. It's all one big pot of tax dollars. If they can't stay on the air without subsidies they should be out of business.

Good luck with that.

Don't forget to add the periodic mumbling about NEA too.

Enjoy.

So what you are saying is that 52% of the funding for NPR whether direct or not comes from the U.S. Govt?

Sources please.
