"Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" from your link pretty much says it all.

Haven't these lowlifes been discredited enough times that no one but you and a few other fanatics take them seriously anymore?

One man serves in combat and is mocked for it. Another man doesn't and is hailed.

RML, simpletons react like that to facts. However, it doesn't originate with the SBVFt, But with Boston globe and Kerrys own campaigns.

You ask for proof, I gave it. Now do you act like a man or a troll.....I am betting troll.

FR to get away from Vietnam and back to topic...

I am really getting a kick on the whole "Republicans/Conservative/Worsepeopleinworldhistory being tagged as brain washed sycophants who need to get their soma from demi-gods while Democrats/Liberial/Mostlovingandequalinworldhistory are learned independant thinkers who seek to take the world in and make up their own minds.

It shows a complete and zero comprehension of Television and Radio and how it works in a free and open society. Not to mention the right of Freedom of Speech.

Even more humorous have been regular posters who feign knowledge of Air America even though that radio network has literally been one of the most active thread topics on these Collarme message boards since even BEFORE the network began airing!

And I do not want to hear anything about money... AA was backed by millions of dollars setting up and it recruited large paying sponsors. NOBODY LISTENED BECAUSE THEIR NETWORK DID NOT ENTERTAIN OR INFORM ON ANY MEANINGFUL LEVEL.

Democrats found it boring, Liberals found it boring, Republicans, Conservatives, Moderates, Socialists, Communists, Fascists, even their relativities found it boring.

One need only look at their ratings and their demographics. AA's ratings were paltry at best and their demographics were homogenous. When one looks at ratings for Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, et al, you find a huge diversity, in race, in sex, in age, in income, in ideology, in faith or lack of it. Even on TV, look at the FOX news thread, 30% of self described DEMOCRATS polled stated that FOX was the most trusted news source. Why, because they found in it a better product.

Conservative talk radio’s biggest asset is the diversity and the size of that diversity of its audience.

Before the message haters jump up and down yelling “documentation, documentation” all the proof you need is Air America’s own failure. People didn’t listen, Sponsors didn’t buy. That is not happening in the rest of the talk radio world and even if YOU do not listen.

So what's your point?

I don't think any of that about Air America is in question.

MM the point is that this posturing that AA failed because “the Left” does not listen to talk radio is beyond nonsense. They do and in great numbers. FOX News and Rush Limabugh attract many of them because they are good informative news and opinion sources that happen to be equally entertaining.

If Fox and Limbaugh were feeding pap to sycophants they would be out of business too.

I tried listening to Air America, but even my great disgust with George Bush could not put a glisten on that pile of snickering, sniveling rubble.

Rush draws listeners for many of the reasons you noted. He also draws them because he is right a lot of the time. It's not because he has a vast intellect, nor because he has a crystal ball. It is because democrats can't help being democats. He knows it, and calls them on it time and time again. What is supremely stupid about the entire venture is that people like Rush basically laid out the winning formula for them and they ignored it. Results, AA bankrupt, Rush raking in millions. People can bitch about it all day long but that is the bottom line truth.

No, the reason people on the left listen to them is for a good laugh and to find out out what the wingnuts are whining about today.

So yes, I guess you are right if that was what you were referring to as entertainment.

But that's just it. No one is bitching about it.

A few are bitching about the people who are bitching about it but who in fact are not only not bitching, but largely apathetic.

Non-story.

Sorry, but that is just not played out by the ratings.

Agreed on the largely apathetic. However, people bitch all the time about the success of conservative talk radio, which in turn will crow for years over the abyssmal failure of the left's attempt at the same game.  So if enough aren't bitching, give Rush time. He'll needle them into it. Which in turn will probably increase calls for the Fairness Doctrine. I doubt dems have the balls to try and pass something like that now though, and given the election in Mass, probably not the numbers.

I don't recall Bob Dole being attacked for his service.  You have no point here.

your failure will be blamed on Conservatives failing to join with you to create better radio, not on failure to market your own message.

I think it failed because NObama didn't 'splain it enough.

Yes knuckelhead... and I retracted it later. I sometime post quickly.

I will however maintain that he didn't serve honorably.

Jeff

Typical liberal... character assassinator. Sad. :-(

You can maintain that G.W. Bush didn't serve honorably all you want but the Honorable Discharge he received in a normal and timely manner from the Texas Air National Guard says you're wrong.

I maintain that John F. Kerry didn't serve honorably because he did not receive an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Navy Reserve in either a normal or timely manner.

Character assassination seems a bipartisan endeavor.

Most often initiated by a liberal when they don't like a messenger's message. Case in point, Jeffff's initial "Yes knuckelhead..."

Just a humorous attempt to reference Obama's hilarious notion last night that his stealthcare plan failed because he didn't 'splain it enough (really, he said that; you can't just make this stuff up. He said it)
