Hey buddy can you spare a job?
When I read the following article, I had to triple check to make sure the information

was current!
Yes, it is current, the article was published today!!

Let's see unemployment is in the double digits, and not going down any time soon.
Many companies continue to send work offshore, to increase profits.
In fact, outsourcing is increasing because of the recession!
Many companies are outsourcing to increase their profits and cut costs as they emerge

from a downturn!

It appears that the 3 companies named in the article, just hired 16,000 workers.....in India!
These jobs range from call service to software development.
Oh well, these are the brakes.

Its not the global corporations who are in a depression, its the U.S. workers. Kind of like when Kunta Kinte was put on the ship, it was an "adjustment period".

Welcome to the Age of Corporatism in the US.
It's been going on for years, under Regan, Bush Sr, Clinton, Bush Jr, and now Obama.
Congress, as a whole, does not care as they are bought and paid for by corporate lobbyists. And It doesn't matter which "party" has the majority - they both cowtow to corporate interests.

The only real difference I see between the Dems and the GOP: The GOP cuts taxes and spends like a dunken sailor whereas the Dems raise taxes and spend like a drunken sailor. Oh, and the GOP tends to yell more and use fear to push their agendas. And the GOP tends to be more racist and homophobic and exclusionary. But otherwise, it's hard to tell them apart. :D

Ya think that if we go to war against corporatism in the United States it'll mean more jobs? Maybe that's how India's luring them in, they let them know in various ways and on a daily basis how much they're loathed.

Yes, jobs are going overseas to workers who accept less pay, there maximising profits in a better way than employing immigrants only in their native country, no benefits to pay workers. This is what it is all about, and maybe has always been about,  corporate interests. Corporations are the true rulers of a country, not the government.

Seems Obama is trying to "out republican" the Republicans!
BTW, has anyone heard him say "Change" in the last six months or so?

Put an end to the endless environmental regulations and tax increases and some of these jobs might come back on our shore. The reason they left is to make more money for shareholders. Lets give them an insentive to come back home.

Something is going to have to "change" or "give" soon, if not, life as many people know it in the
United States will certainly be permanently changed.
I still think the "economy" is no where near the "bottom" yet.
Keep hanging on to the old hats, the ride is going to get bumpier.

I'll bet he said it in Massachusetts a few days ago stumping for Martha. The final nail in her coffin.

Maybe that will happen after they let the Bush tax cuts sunset.

Probably not.

Sadly MzMia I think you are right. Some pundits on FOX Business tonight ,(not Fox), see unemployment at 11 to 12% by summer. This is not good for our country.

Doesn't take environmental regulation to set up call centers, design houses, radiologists, etc.

During the last Depression, the highest was about 25%, it fluctuated around 14%.
I love history, what is that expression they say about history?
"Those that don't know their history are doomed to repeat it?"

The Great Depression

I don't see what would stop unemployment from rising to at least 13%-15%.
Personally, I think eventually it will even be higher than that.

Where the hell are the millions of jobs needed going to come from?
And I sure as hell am not counting the million temporary census jobs.

I'm more interested in how I can effectively spank the bank.

I am growing quite tired of just barely surviving since 18. It does make for a nice fit body though. Two weeks I walked 23-25 miles looking for employment (how could I pay for gas for a car let alone a car.... and insurance for how expensive it is going to be for me).

I may have something at Red Lobster. Hell I just may show up and work on my time off from my first job. Which I am back at after something else did not pan out AT ALL

o-(-_-)-o

wow I am chatty tonight.
