xxblushesxx -> Private Parts in Avatars (1/24/2010 12:04:25 PM)

I really can't read what you are saying if I see your dangly bits, your tits, or your ass (exposed).

You may have something important to say, but I'm too distracted (not generally in a good way) by the what should be private parts.

If I *want* to see your privates, maybe I'll go look at your profile and see if you have any nakey pics on there; or maybe we can talk, and you can ask if I'd like to see them.

I know this is an adult site; believe me I know. But see...the reason I'm mostly over here as opposed to CM is that I'm honestly just here for some intellectual discourse or non-intellectual as the case may be. I'm here to kick back and have some fun, not check out your tits or your ... whatever you have.

I don't mind a little tease...Merc n Beth's photo is a perfect example. It's cute, sexy, but I don't have to have her ta ta's staring back at me. *lol* There's lots of others here who have extremely sexy pics, but no crotch, boobs or ass shots, and I SO appreciate that.

If you want to be taken seriously, (by me anyway) please don't show me your stuff.

ThatDaveGuy69 -> RE: Private Parts in Avatars (1/24/2010 12:14:50 PM)

Is trying to decide if I want to be taken seriously by ANYONE on CM :D

But I'm with you on the x-rated pics up front. Seems to take the mystery out of getting to know someone. When I see someone's naughty bits as their avatar pic or as their 1st profile pic, I just want to ask if their mother never told 'em not to give it all away at once :D

Hey blushes: how quickly do ya think this devolve into a discussion of being judgemental and shallow?!

What's your issue?  Think of it as idiots self-screening themselves out.

Level -> RE: Private Parts in Avatars (1/24/2010 12:21:35 PM)

You folks are so judgment and shallow.

I've started a poll on this in Random, please vote!

stella41b -> RE: Private Parts in Avatars (1/24/2010 12:39:16 PM)

I'm with Blushes so count me in as a todger dodger. If I wanted to see a load of pricks and tits I'd go out and get the bus up to Westminster.

CalifChick -> RE: Private Parts in Avatars (1/24/2010 12:40:52 PM)

So I'm in the clear because it's not MY ass over there, right?

Cali

xxblushesxx -> RE: Private Parts in Avatars (1/24/2010 1:12:45 PM)

Cali, that is a hot pic, and obviously just an avatar IE not a real person. (I WISH it were me though!!)

What if it were a real pic? And not so shapely?

xxblushesxx -> RE: Private Parts in Avatars (1/24/2010 1:56:12 PM)

Then I would be distracted, and not focused on their words. (shapely or not, I really don't want to see it on the message boards)

Although for some strange reason the ones that are obviously avatars don't bother me. Idk..

LillyoftheVally -> RE: Private Parts in Avatars (1/24/2010 2:01:37 PM)

I think it depends on the boobs, there was one a while ago that used to properly put me off, hanging boobs that I always wanted to put a bra on. However it is as you say a sex site and I guess if you want simply intellectual discourse maybe a different forum would be better for it, to be totally honest it is other pictures that put me off more, mostly older gentlemen with odd camera angles or weird poses rather than boobies or anything else

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Private Parts in Avatars (1/24/2010 2:24:57 PM)

Would you consider my avatar offensive, Blushes?  Curious as to whether art (drawings, paintings etc.) are less offensive than actual dangling bits and baggy buns.

I have to admit (blushes) that i thought this was Cali. I was very disillusioned when i found out differently! [&o]

ShaharThorne -> RE: Private Parts in Avatars (1/24/2010 2:31:39 PM)

That is an excellent avatar for Shibari...

Maybe I will find someone in Austin who can do it on me...

thornhappy -> RE: Private Parts in Avatars (1/24/2010 3:08:57 PM)

Now, I fess up that I like looking at dangly bits.

But, I don't like seeing a guy's bits inserted into someone else's bits.  Especially when the guy's looking for a new partner.

Call me prudish, I guess.

For some strange reason yes, it is much less distracting. Honestly, lots of these aren't even "offensive" in so much as they are distracting, and then I can't "hear" what it is the person is saying.
Doesn't matter whether I'm attracted to the person in the pic or totally squicked. It just takes away from my ability to hear what the person is saying, and *possibly* to take them seriously.
I haven't thought this out a lot, obviously...it was just something I wanted to point out.

edited because I'm a spelling goober

I get what you are saying.  There have been a few individuals I never bothered to even read their posts, simply because their avatar was off-putting.  They might have had something of value to say, I just never bothered to take interest.
