It's nice when people have actual support for their theories.

Everything else is just speculation. Sitting around coming up with weird shit is hardly the same as interpreting events.

These are my thoughts too. Anyone can make a claim or post about some obscure book. Conspiracy books are two a penny but few have anything other than someones theory, and little hard evidence.

When posters who use this forum and others come up with some information in a posting that others decry as a conspiracy theory, I just got to ask, what exactly is wrong with a conspiracy theory ?

A conspiracy theory is another version of events, just not one accepted by the majority, what does this say, could it even be the majority are blind to other possibilities other than the standard accepted version, if so, I have to ask whose standard accepted version, government, so called experts or media ? Because a singular or minority have a different view on events, does it mean they are wrong or is this majority vote itself flawed ?

Is it wrong to be able to think beyond what we are told, or do we have to accept what we are told as the only truth ?

Conspiracy theory has its uses.  A conspirator is often  liable for the criminal actions of his co-conspirator.  Get one, maybe get them all.

Because if the theories were correct, then those trying to expose the conspirators would be shut up, after all these people are planning on wiping out several billion people in some sort of vaccine induced plague, so why do they balk at shutting up Alex Jones and his ilk (including our own hunky), why do these all-powerful people who have managed to control the world since god knows when lack the resolve to silence those outing them...that is what I always ask, and so far the only response I have gotten is....you guessed it, nada, nothing, zip...no response whatsoever, those spouting the drivel just ignore the question and go on with their paranoid fantasies.

LMFAO

This proves my point about lack of evidence. When you used to post about 9/11 conspiracies, I did you the courtesy of looking at every video link you posted. And by God, you posted a few, in fact it was hours and hours of the stuff. Sure there was a few circumstancial pieces regards poor building quality and the state of the finances of the buildings owners. What I never found, not once, was any link between the buildings falling and the US Government. You may well view this differently, but to me it remains a conspracy theory due to lack of proper evidence.

Pahunk has never supplied a valid link regards all his comments about the Royal family and American finance, until he does so I am unable to name a judgement one way or the other on the topic.

Here's my problem with most conspiracy theory claims, they involve too many people.

The truthers claim 9/11 was done using controlled demo which even a small amount of research shows would have required work crews in the hundreds. Too many people to all have kept their mouths shut for 9 years.

The birthers claim functionally everyone to ever have reason to interact with President Obama official documents is part of the conspiracy to make him POTUS. Ludicrous.

The Apollo hoaxers think all of NASA as well hundreds of special effects techs and movie makers never let slip for more 40 years.

The JFK conspiracy theorists at least posit it being a small group, 2 to 5 people in most scenarios, which proves nothing but doesn't require that human nature be completely removed from the equation.

Just guessing…

It isn’t a matter of lacking resolve; it’s about using your resources wisely. They have weapons of mass destruction; ‘the majority’?

How is it all lumped together as one title conspiracy theory and then talked about as one glommy mess? It is ridiculous to me the way some people call all the conspiracy theories fairy tales. Is the world flat still?

Yes, I have thought about that, but if the outers do come to a sticky end, then that will raise an eyebrow or more, investigations will happen and that is what those perpetuating a cons piracy don't want, hence the bumping off of the outers in the first place. The best form of defence against a person who believes they have uncovered foul goings on, is to patently deny what the outer is demanding, even put across that the outer is creating nothing more than a conspiracy theory. Depending upon the defenders position and ability, the outer can be discredited to whoever would suit the purpose best. Hasn't anyone seen theorists lampooned in the press and other media, destroy a person's credibility to the public, and no one will listen to them and furthermore any other who happens upon similar activities to the last will also be told their findings are a known conspiracy theory, the case is closed, no one is interested because whatever is going on has been exposed as a conspiracy theory. But, if something is going on, then it is then free to do so, as anyone who finds anything will think it is part of the conspiracy theory put about about what they find. For a conspirator, perfect cover in broad daylight.

Kid, you really should do your homework yourself this term instead of posting it on the Internet. You might learn something.

This is a child's game of "But Dad, then what? But then what? But then what? But then what?" rather than an inquiry.

Every hear of Ockham's Razor?

But that aside--your statement is silly. So many ways prove the same thing. So what? What's that got to do with conspiracy theories, where such proof doesn't exist, just a string of "Well yeah but maybes?"

There will be greed on all levels. It has been like that since I can remember.

I subscribe to the 2nd gunman on the railroad track, that the plane in PA was metted for the WH, that JEH was in fact a CD and the Bible contains a hidden Kabalistic code. Not to mention the Freemasons, Project BlueBook and perhaps the NWO.

But the I learn to maintain myself in society by being one of the mundane. I admit that I have studied several things and experienced quite a few things as well. Hell I battled Social Security in order to get my disability and their method of deciding who can get their SSI. I won but they are still delaying the final check for my backpay. I refuse to give up. I got credit cards (mom's I ran them up) to pay for and a driveway that needs pea gravel. Lets not mention the dental work that I need.

So see...I blend into the background, with society being my camo. I am just like someone who has learned to observe and collect data for further study.

Now...I am glad the Obama wants the banks to straighten their asses up. Bush started the bailouts and Obama had to inherit the entire mess.

Now...if only I can geta copy of the health care bill, but that means the 'man' knows where I am. Hell, he knows where I am at because I do my civil duty and use my ability to VOTE!

Hunky sweetie, nobody in their right mind denies there is corruption and greed. Where it is and how deep or high  it goes is what people have trouble with agreeing on

Very well stated, Lucy.
IMHO, there is a big difference between thinking outside of the box, and believing everything is a "conspiracy theory".
I will use myself as an example.
I have been stating for about 3 years that, I think, we are headed towards anoter Depression.
I have never stated that this is a "conspiracy theory", I tend to believe that many just don't see it coming.
I also think, something strange is going on with the "weather" and the climate.
In NEITHER case, do I think there is some big "conspiracy theory" or "cover-up" going on.
This is just how I view the world at this time.

It is just my point of view of what is going on in the world, which I am entitled to have.
I am not going to start a million threads on it, but you can bet your last money I will start a thread or two, on either subject when the hell I feel like it.

I could be right, I could be wrong, only the future will tell.
Again, I think it is OKAY to think outside of the box, and it is great to have some reputable facts to go along with it.

I don't see anything wrong with posts that are "outside of the box", or people having or expressing opinions, theories, or points of view, that are NOT mainstream.

On the other hand, I don't think we NEED people to post 5-7 threads a day or every other day, on "conspiracy theories".
I don't think we need anyone poster ever posting 5-7 threads a day{cluttering up the boards, and banging us over the head} with their issues, theories or opinions, either.
I don't read 75% of the stuff on this message board, because it does not interest me OR I don't have the time to read it.
I say read what you like, and skip over what you don't.
We all have the freedom to NOT read what we are not interested in, and maybe find something else to do.
Peace

Well, the title of this part of the message boards is "Politics and Religion".
Something that is at least a little bit related to the theme I guess.
Hunky, I have no problem with you or your ideas.
Do you think sometimes you start too many threads, on the same sort of
topic?

I am a bit of a fan of conspiracy theories, but it has just been so long since we had a really good one.

There was a thread not too long ago with some new ones in it.  I contributed one, myself, that wasn't too bad.

quote:

I'm sure you've all heard about Obama's "Cap and Trade" program...

Well, the theory is that very soon we'll all have a set number of carbon credits we're allowed to use, and that in order to exceed that limit we'll have to barter with someone else who's willing to use less than his allowance and will trade us his excess.  Carbon credits could very well become a new monetary system... perhaps even the only one.

For students of Christian eschatology, it might be interesting to note that Carbon contains 6 protons, 6 electrons, and 6 neutrons.

6-6-6

Edited to add...

lol... and I just noticed that Aneirin started that thread, too!
