People can only see and know what they are capable of. Yeah in the same school of thought that 13 is an unlucky number. Oh is it? Or is it the number of times the moon goes around the Earth in the year and the boogie man who does all the GMO, Global Warming, Creating Money, and Generally Seriously Fucking up would love us to feed into the shite that 13 is unlucky.

Que sera maing.

Huge difference between superstition and conspiracy theory.

Not always to say the least. Who begins these superstitions? Same unloving intent.

Have you read "The Last Symbol" by Dan Brown yet? I find it interesting, exploring the mythos of the pattern used to build the buildings of Washington DC. I think it even 'talk' about the lost cornerstone of the White House. My mind tends to wander and I will misplace what I read and watch on TV.

Musicmystery -> RE: Conspiracy theories ? (1/25/2010 7:25:24 AM)

There's a difference, though, between fiction and a conspiracy theory presented as true.

A difference that seems to escape a surprising number of people.

I read three of his books last summer “The Lost Symbol”, The Da Vinci Code”, and “Angels and Demons”. It took me three weeks. : )

I have a, somewhat extreme, interest toward symbolism, and really enjoyed reading all three books.

I don’t think it is necessary to believe in the symbolism used by those in government, but to ignore that they use it, therefore, indicating they believe it has meaning, is choosing to be ignorant.

Unfortunately, understanding what the symbols really mean is a whole different issue.

When posters who use this forum and others come up with some information in a posting that others decry as a conspiracy theory, I just got to ask, what exactly is wrong with a conspiracy theory ?

A conspiracy theory is another version of events, just not one accepted by the majority, what does this say, could it even be the majority are blind to other possibilities other than the standard accepted version, if so, I have to ask whose standard accepted version, government, so called experts or media ? Because a singular or minority have a different view on events, does it mean they are wrong or is this majority vote itself flawed ?

Is it wrong to be able to think beyond what we are told, or do we have to accept what we are told as the only truth ?

People are free to believe and say what they like, within the law, and this is essential to our system and way of life. But others are equally entitled to decry any view they like, for whatever reasons they like. There is little question of whether it is legitimate to develop and publish a conspiracy theory (or whistleblowing exercise as the case may be), and little question as to whether it is legitimate to support or dismiss it.

The difference between a conspiracy theory and a whistleblowing exercise is in the proportion of people who believe the story in the final analysis. Sadly, it is not the case that evidence, causality, interrelatedness, logic or any other higher function may be attributed with any power to influence the proportion of believers and disbelievers except to those to whom such functions are available, rather it is the human tendency to try to seek order from chaos and to make the facts fit, according to the inherent worldview of the human. As long as the facts fit to a story and the story satisfies the worldview, then the story will have legs - it is then just matter of how many people like the story before it becomes such common currency that it becomes the truth and turns into a whistle blowing exercise, or is consigned to the lunatic fringe.

At this stage, even when those who have the higher functions available to them to disprove the story, demonstrate its falsehood, this merely becomes the grounds for further suspicion of a hidden agenda and so comes to support the story.

The reality is that yes, there are conspiracies to manipulate the world to one end or another, but that in the vast majority of cases these are merely stories designed to extract order and understanding from a chaotic and incomprehensible world.

NeedToUseYou -> RE: Conspiracy theories ? (1/25/2010 8:44:59 AM)

Didn't read all the responses.

There are tons of provable conspiracies, that very few accept as true. We tend to get all in a huff over the dumb ones like JFK, Nasa, etc... The ones that really have zero effect on reality.

Here's some conspiracies.

Why do we have a system by which money must funnel down from the government to the banks, then to the wealthiest, then on down to the poorest. The poorer you are the more you suffer the effects of inflation, yet the system by which we initiate the money flow goes to the wealthy-->less wealthy---> poorer---> poorest.  Once you are in the poorest category, it no longer applies so much, since you living off the state at that point, and beholden to the system as such.

The conspiracy is we have designed a system of haves and have nots, not via taxation, but rather by the design of money flows. A much much better wealth trap than poverty via taxation.

Another conspiracy....

We have people actually going hungry in the US, a large percentage of them children, it would take a small fraction of what we pay for the military to completely eliminate this problem.

I deal in the secondary market alot, and I've seen with my own eyes vast amounts of food headed for the trash bins, new not expired, food, while people are hungry.

What's the conspiracy, the US government does not really care about starving children instead is much much much more concerned with killing foreigners, or building bases to threaten foreigners.

Taxation on the individual level is completely ridiculous, and really only serves to enrich accountants and help the government spy on your finances.

Why? Well, it would be cheaper to simply charge a flat tax at retail, and give everyone a monthly rebate check, on the amount of taxes that would have been paid on purchases to the poverty line. They do not need your information, other than who are you and where to send the check. The IRS in its present form is more akin to a domestic spy agency, as the only benefit to the government that could not be had via a retail tax is that of forcing you to submit private information by threat of jail time.

Plenty of conspiracies, that are IMO, factual. Do, I care if aliens exist, if JFK was assassinated by the CIA, or did we land on the moon, sure I care a bit, but I care a lot more about the conspiracies that are happening right now, and everyone just accepts as normal.

If they were provable, they wouldn't be conspiracy theories.

Sorry to disagree Tim. They are being buried by the NWO.

Well, then I guess I should have written.

"There are tons of FACTS, that people want to treat as if they are unproven conspiracy theories. "

Better.

Musicmystery -> RE: Conspiracy theories ? (1/25/2010 9:03:42 AM)

That is, unfortunately, true.

great post!

How about this one?

The removal of specie such that there can be no Lawful "due consideration" thus removing the ability to "ever".......PAY" a debt?

Federal reserve notes are IOU's.

An IOU pays NOTHING!  Even though many will argue that because the "government" says its ok that means its ok!  Even though is is unconstitutional!

How is that for an accepted conspiracy since it is in violation of the constitutional money clause and every american is guilty of "trading with the enemy" for using these debt notes.

Long story I wont get into but fact none the less.

as far as taxes go there is virtually no tax that is a lwful tax, its very narrow, so flat, fair etc are really to be avoided.

Enjoy...

The above shows a complete misunderstanding of what money is.

See any economics text.

Oh, I'm sorry, I read money mechanics put out by the federal reserve, chicago branch.

Thanks!

No problem. You'll learn.

[A Fish Called Wanda:

Wanda: Yes they do, Otto--they just don't understand it!]

This is an example how Hollywood brings us into a fake reality so intense that one is unable to discern the greed in the real world.  You really must stop watching this poison.   It has corrupted your thought process.

Musicmystery -> RE: Conspiracy theories ? (1/25/2010 9:42:26 AM)

Fortunately, when I was a child, my parents taught me to distinguish reality from make-believe.

Perhaps you can find a support group to help with that?

[:D]

pahunkboy -> RE: Conspiracy theories ? (1/25/2010 9:52:38 AM)

Well you said you dont watch TV- but are always quoting fish called wanda stuff- so you dont view Hollywood as the same as TV.

Maybe there is a Santa Claus and the government will give us all a nice pony!!!

Interesting - could you please perhaps explain further?

Contract law, though boring to some, is an interest of mine, and such a development may be useful even across here.

Jeffff -> RE: Conspiracy theories ? (1/25/2010 9:56:07 AM)

But will they give us oats and hay?

Or will we have to shoot and eat our pony's?

They could give us pony's and then hire the unemployed to pick up all the horse shit. They could start on some of the threads here.
