Yes that is True, but I wont find them at the local foodmart or even watering hole.

Sure you will. We inhabit all sorts of places. I do a lot of grocery shopping since I'm without someone to do that sort of stuff for me at the moment...lol. We just don't wear signs such as "bow to me now!" But, we are there.

Yes many guys like strong assertive women but there is a differance between stong and dominant no?

All dominant women are strong and assertive but not all strong and assertive women are dominant, no.

Welcome to the boards here and hold on to your hat. Real life dominant women are nothing like you saw in fantasy porn ;-)

A difference between strong and dominant? Humm... depends on how you view those words or what meaning you put to them. What do they mean to you?

I am a strong and dominant person. I have inner strength that makes me strong. My dominant personality is charactorized by my inner strength. The two blend for me.

There are some that act dominant and have little charactor or personal strength. Some dominate through weakness. So the two don't always go hand in hand.

Maybe.  Also look at your local library, thrift store, coffee shop, hospital, yoga class, gym, farmers market....pretty much everywhere.

Just because a woman is strong and assertive doesn't mean she'll be loud, bossy, bitchy or lounging on the couch eating bonbons. Although, I'd love a chance to do that last one every once in a while [;)]

smothrme -> RE: Do you get turned off by Male subs, getting excited by your own power only? (1/25/2010 11:17:06 AM)

There are places you can go where you will find a good many women who identify as dominant, such as munches and bdsm events. While you may not find the one of your dreams at those events, you will encounter them more frequently than say at the laundromat.

However, there are also ways to find out if a woman has any interests in domination before you become too emotionally invested in her also. When you do meet a woman who you are attracted to, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to instantly ask, "Are you a domme?"...lol. But, after a few conversations, dates, what-have-you, it likely wouldn't be inappropriate to discuss relationship tendencies. Such as "Which type of person do you get along with most, one who takes the lead or one who follows?" Those types of probing questions can bring about further discussion and can allow you to assess if she is a match for you.

No. You'll get nowehere with a woman if you impose your kink on her.

Some women do wear subtle signs. I have a tiny pair of handcuffs on my keychain (smaller than thumbcuffs), and I am sometimes found wearing a key on my necklace. The key belongs to a chastity device that I use on ocassion and I only wear the key when it is actually in use. But, there are other symbols too that you can look for. Some people enjoy the symbol that looks like a yin-yang sign but with 3 sections instead of two (I can't remember what it's called, tryskel?), some leather folk use a 'hanky system'. Not everyone uses these symbols, but if you do happen to see it, you could always inquire as to its significance.

Edited again because I don't wear the padlock...lol...that is in use, I wear the key (gawd I need caffeine!)

Well... before you bet money on the horse... get to know the horse.
