would be interested in hearing . about homemade toys you have made. i have made my own whips from leather string you can get in most arts n crafts stores .

LOL... kinda like the headliner here...

A friend of mine locally... has shown me how to make floggers. Before meeting him, I had never had the pleasure of seeing one let alone feeling one on me. Now I make them to pass the day by.

When your mind becomes twisted enough everything becomes a toy store. Spatulas, clothes pins, meat tenderizers, serving spoons, cutting boards, rubber bands, etc. etc. The point of making toys kind of becomes lost except for the really scarry Martha Stewart clones.

I've made about half of my floggers, it is really simple and takes about half an hour. Lots of instructions out there.

Zippers are really easy, run a string through a dozen or so clothes pins. Knot in between so they stay put.

Gags are also easy. Simpy run a leather cord through a practice golf ball.

I make floggers as well. Not perfected it yet but I do like them and they work. Having a problem making them look fancy. They work well- thats what matters for now since I am not selling them ~BK~

A friend made us a silk rope flogger which has a delicious sensation. It lands with a thud but can be snapped for a tiny sharp little sting. The ropes fray after a time, completely changing the sensation. Used in conjunction with a leather flogger....yum. And while blindfolded....will the next strike be the silk or the leather? Will i moan or yelp?

A shoe string flogger is easy to make and can be stingy. Just get about 4 long shoe laces, fold them in half and bind the folded end together with some twine.

So far I've made floggers out of 2 pieces of knotted leather cord I had (stings like a bitch) and a stick, Hot Topic pants ropes (meh, not that great), and my cat of nine tails out of manilla rope (omg, love it). The rest of my stuff I collected, was gifted to me, or are ghetto pervertables of my 8th grade graduation ribbons and ropes.

I have: peach, bamboo, nectarine and some other tree, sticks that were collected/ gifted (very nice mix of sensations, mostly whippy and stingy) to me from a friend who also gave me one of the earlier floggers he had made which I had taken a liking to. My singletail was gifted to me (my current favorite toy). Got a "dragon's tongue" type thing from a bunch of scrap leather I bought to make things out of (nice sharp sting). Rattan from Wal Mart (I know cheap, crappy, but nice thud). A driving whip (no experience, will take a long time) and choke chain from Petsmart, the chains off my Hot Topic pants, and a sex-shop type rubber flogger (tis ok, was good to practice with) from Spencers. Big gigantic promotional clothespins from free events (they're ok, but clamps are stronger), a soap bottle that makes for good suction. Last but not least a stand alone "bondage rack" from the top bunk, of my bunkbed which is currently being used by my roomate.

I have the wood for a St. Andrew's Cross and whipping post, and leather. Mostly my stuff will be things I made, just need to start planning and experimenting, and yes as you can see by the repetorie above about striking implements, yes I do have a flogging fetish.

Clothes peg's + elastic band over the teeth of the pegs add's an insane amount of pressure onto the nipple/cock/balls/lips thus increasing pain which in retrospect may increase pleasure.

Riding gloves, leather gloves that are thin and do not have fingers, are great for spankings. Shop around though I've seen them from between $5 and $20.

I have a "pussy whip" that I had bought years ago..can't even remember where, I "think" it was the old "SF Dungeon" way back when..VERY effective at getting recalcitrant subs to behave!

Funny, I never bought any toys until I got to the point where I could sell the ones I made. I started out making restraints to facilitate my bondage fantacies.

By this point, I've made floggers, cats, humblers, paddles, wooden insertables, spreader bars, suspension rigs, canes, and assorted other toys. It helps that I'm very mechanically inclined. I work with leather, wood, metals ranging from mild steel to titanium, and just recently, carbon fiber.

If you're willing to invest in a couple of tools and spend some time learning new skills, there's no reason you can't make some very nice toys yourself. Leather is a great medium to start in because you don't need expensive power tools. It's possible to make nice things with wood with only hand tools, but it can be time consuming and still requires a lot of practice. Metal is very tool intensive and probably not the best place to start.

Just be warned, once you start making your own toys, your friends might start hitting you up to make toys for them as well. If you're not careful, you might wake up one day to discover that you're building sex toys for a living. But I've had worse jobs.

Am a member of a former msn group, now worldgroups that a few of the collarme community might be interested in. It is all about home-made toys of one sort or another, but you would need to sign onto to worldgroups. Since all of the msn adult groups are supposedly disappearing shortly, any of you with current msn groups will likely be getting link e-mails anyway as the move progresses, but will give you the group ID for the bdsm equipment just in case you want to have a look.

Years ago a Dom sent me off searching for a long willow switch. i had to soak it in salt water for 24 hours and then bend one end back toward the other and bind the two together. It ended up looking like a carpet beater. Holy ouch. i loved it.

I plum forgot this one. I made a spreader bar for a girlfriend once. It's just a thick dowel with two eyelets inserted at the ends. The best thing was that I was able to cut it to a comfortable size for her.

I have the best toy in the world, My Master Adashi, gave me one of his triangle piercings 12 days ago, and its almost healed and "driving" me crazy with sensations. I hear that! A few weeks ago I was at Home Depot with a close friend (another local Dom) and we happened to notice a very large outdoor-cooking spatula. It's a relatively thick metal (I think it's stainless steel, but I could be wrong), and it's got holes in it. Good for whapping. One edge has teeth. Another edge has another fun shape... and all that for only $5. It is now displayed proudly on His wall. He doesn't own a grill... but that's probably a good thing, because if he did someone would want to use it for grilling, and that just wouldn't be right.
