In the middle of the punishment (a hard lashing w/the whip or crop) he'll ask me if I know why I'm being punished so I don't do it again then about 25-30 consecutive lashings then business as usual.

Thankfully punishments happen rarely, that's not to say the whippings don't occur! He's just in a better mood when he beats me! lol

Likely the same factor that influences the fact that everyone who does have a 'punishment ritual' on this thread is a femsub.

I've found that malesubs tend to fetishize the fantasy of corporal punishment, whereas femsubs tend to romanticize or glorify "genuine punishment" for an actual transgression. Not all, of course, I personally am not interested in a punishment dynamic, but I think it might be loosely connected to the fact that there are more "daddy doms" than there are "mommy dommes."

personally i think punishment shouldn't be ritualized or enjoyed

in fact i think when it get to the point of needing to be punished it should bonder on vicious, otherwise i use correction and discipline which i see as different than punishment
