VirginPotty -> A Mexican, an Arab, and a American............. (1/26/2010 12:06:33 PM)

A Mexican, an Arab, and a American are in the same bar..

When the Mexican finishes his beer, he throws his glass in the air, pulls out his pistol, and shoots the glass to pieces. He says, 'In Mexico , our glasses are so cheap we don't need to drink with the same one twice...'

The Arab, obviously impressed by this, drinks his beer, throws it into the air, pulls out his AK-47, and shoots the glass to pieces.. He says, 'In the Arab World, we have so much sand to make glasses that we don't need to drink with the same one twice either.'

The American, cool as a cucumber, picks up his beer, downs it in one gulp, throws the glass into the air, whips out his 45, and shoots the Mexican and the Arab. Catching his glass, setting it on the bar, and calling for a refill, he says,

'In America we have so many illegal aliens that we don't have to drink with the same ones twice.'

[:-] Sad but true... but sad. [&o]

kittinSol -> RE: A Mexican, an Arab, and a American............. (1/26/2010 6:59:54 PM)

It's sad, because it's a humourless joke. But what's true about it?

ItsAProcess -> RE: A Mexican, an Arab, and a American............. (1/26/2010 10:12:09 PM)

Having known both Mexicans and Arabs, rather personally, I find the idea abhorrent.

And I'm not a fan of illegal aliens, not by far. But murder and senseless violence are /never/ funny. In the least.

In fact, that joke was less 'funny' and more 'offensive'.

Ye shall find what ye seeks. True here as well.

What is funny to one person is offensive to another.
It is the nature of life.

I am not even sure of what an "Arab" is. Is that someone of Middle Eastern descent? Is it someone from Saudi Arabia? I don't find it funny either, and I find it redolent of the usual "America, we're #1." Jingoistic bullshit, and on that note, I know that VP didn't even give it any thought as to it being offensive and this is *not* an attack on her, just a prevalent attitude in America, as we sink further and further into so not being number one in anything but assholes at times. Oh and in huge debt to the countries that we make fun of.

Again VirginPotty, I know you had no ill intent so please don't take offense, I am making a general statement.

JonnieBoy -> RE: A Mexican, an Arab, and a American............. (1/27/2010 7:31:10 PM)

Curious how Achmed The Dead Terrorist is so funny to so many, yet THIS is so fucking sensitive. I think it's really funny in a "black" kinda way ... anyone who doesn't see the humour in it belongs in a dictatorship if you ask me ... err, or a sect ... err, or is a middle finger short of a proper fist.

Yup ... it's funny.

Anyone uptight about it has a guilt complex so tight they must be an insider.

Well I have been called lots of terms, uptight not being one of them. Jonnie how about if we agree that humor is subjective and I not finding this funny, along with several others, remains my right, and doesn't deserve such apparent personal feelings? I mean why does it offend you so much that I don't find it humorous?

It strikes me as a bit odd that it matters enough to make such a strong statement, care to elaborate?

JonnieBoy -> RE: A Mexican, an Arab, and a American............. (1/27/2010 8:02:16 PM)

You have every right to find it not funny.

BUT  ... where do you get that I am      offended      that you don't find it humerous ?

You stated that Aynne88 belongs in a dicatorship or sect or is sub intelligent for finding it not funny and offensive.

That's probably one of the most reactive and unintelligent comments I've heard around here for some time, which is saying something.

She also asked you to elaborate, which you avoided. Make up your mind whether cowardice or idiocy is your first choice.

JstAnotherSub -> RE: A Mexican, an Arab, and a American............. (1/28/2010 2:27:57 AM)

i found it funny.....i also find fat chick jokes funny, redhead jokes funny, my blonde friends send me the best blonde jokes......i can scroll down page one of this section right now and find at least 10 things that someone might find offensive....

this is a humor section......not political, not omg i mean for you to take this literally i want all (insert yer hot spot here) to die, quit existing, quit being manufactured, quit invading our country, quit fighting dogs,....wtfe....

lighten up folks.......

celticsubut -> RE: A Mexican, an Arab, and a American............. (1/28/2010 4:32:32 AM)

What would you say if the joke had been modified so that the Mexican or Arab had shot the American?

Ventriloquists are rubbish at the best of times, but that particular one really takes the biscuit: nah, don't find that humourous either. I suppose there are Bernard Manning lovers out there too - each to their own, aye.

VirginPotty -> RE: A Mexican, an Arab, and a American............. (1/28/2010 6:07:36 AM)

Sorry for those that took offense but as someone stated this is the HUMOR section NOT the Political section. I don't see anyone protesting "Dead Baby" jokes & as a mother/grandmother I find them totally repulsive so I ignore them & move forward. I suggest you do the same.

Aynne, no worries, I know your statement wasn't directed specifically to me. (((Hugs)))

EbonyWood -> RE: A Mexican, an Arab, and a American............. (1/28/2010 6:25:14 AM)

There is a very clear directive in the Forum Guidelines http://www.collarchat.com/m_81/tm.htm

to not post offensive material.

Hopefully the moderators will act on their own guidelines and remind you of this.

Termyn8or -> RE: A Mexican, an Arab, and a American............. (1/28/2010 7:16:41 AM)

FR

Hold on a friggin minute here. The mods ain't going to do shit because they can read. Read the joke again, what does it say ? Who is the butt of the joke ? Who shot two people for no good reason ? It wasn't the Arab or Mexican, it was the "American". The Arab and the Mexican also referred to "My country" and may have just been visitors.

So am I to take offense because the author of the joke has seemingly called one of my countrymen one who assumes things for which they have no evidence and has a tendency to shoot first and ask questions later ? Which brings up another, slightly more difficult question. If it's true is it offensive ? A quick look at resent history might yield a clue.
