ORIGINAL: Level Speaking for myself: Just because it's in the Constitution does not make it right. It was once unconstitutional for a woman to vote; that was rightly corrected. Are abortions a "risk"? Of course. Does that risk outweigh another's life? I've said it before: I can understand it when a woman's life is in imminent danger. I can also understand, if not agree with, abortion when there has been rape or incest. Once again I'd like to point out that the number one cause of death among pregnant women is murder. So how do you know whose life if in imminent danger? Let the decision be between the woman and her doctor. You are against abortion, then don't have one. Something a bit more disturbing is the trend now for some women (or girls) to kill the child after it is born. Is it not more humane to abort a preganancy early on than to kill the baby after it is born? And it's not just the mothers who are doing this, it's the fathers as well. From the American Journal of Psychiatry http://ajp.psychiatryonline.org/cgi/content/full/162/9/1578 "Among children under age 5 years in the United States who were murdered in the last quarter of the 20th century, 61% were killed by their own parents: 30% were killed by their mothers, and 31% by their fathers " "Mothers committing neonaticide were typically younger and unmarried. They had unwanted pregnancies and no prenatal care." Rather than concentrait on the abortion itself, why not be just as vocal and active about the circumstances that lead a woman to her decision to abort? So-called "pro life" groups do not give a damn about anything coming out of the womb alive. They are so thrilled to close down Planned Parenthood locations, an organization that has provided factual information, low-cost or free pregnancy prevention methods for years. Woman (and girls) have fewer places to go to get non-judgemental information, advice, birth-control. Nice job Pro-Life!
