AquaticSub -> Fucking scuff marks!!! (1/26/2010 9:47:09 PM)

So I finally bought a little tin of leather cleaner and I'm attacking the little black marks on a favorite pair of red high heels. It's slow going. Very slow. Enough to make me question the wisdom of ever wearing red heels again and I'm a devoted red heel fan.

Any tips anyone? Before my arm falls off and Valyraen has to find a new girl just to make him a sandwhich.

And Ron, sadly, I don't think this problem can be solved with a blowjob.

Would chocolate help?

*helpful blushie*

While chocolate can be used with a soda can to start a fire, I don't think it helps in this situation. Athough... if I had chocolate I could use one of the cans on my desk to burn the heels. And then I wouldn't be worried about the scuff marks anymore...

Toothpaste or a paste of baking soda and water applied with an old toothbrush.

Mr Clean Magic Eraser  (you may not have one of these yet.)

Lavender oil

Vaseline

I have used a Mr. Clean Eraser, I just didn't know it was safe to take them to nice heels. Sneakers sure but my heels are my babies. The toothpaste or baking soda with a toothbrush just might work through. I've been trying to press gently with my thumbnail through the cloth and that seems to help. A bit...

It is safe to use it on leather.  (The eraser)  And you said that you had bought leather cleaner.

The baking soda or toothpaste has abrasion in it which is why it works so well for silver.

I hope that helps.

Depending on what the scuff marks are from and what the heels are made of...assuming they're leather or similar material :

Rubbing alcohol

Goo Gone

Lighter Fluid (often the key ingredient to most stain removal products)

Magic Eraser

Art Gum Eraser

Once the scuff marks are removed a buffing of vaseline or olive oil will help to protect from further ones in future and make cleaning much easier.

Ya know... I buy it but that is one of those things where you look at it go "Really? That's... wow... Cool".

Takes scuff marks out of anything and can be used on both cloth and leather...although I wouldn't use it on a satin or silk.

Just avoid any fire play for a couple hours after wards!

Learn something new everyday.  Nifty!  Another use for lighter fluid.

You mean like Ronsonal, not that stuff for grilling, right?

Correct...the stuff you use to fill a Zippo lighter. Also great for removing chewing gum, peanut butter and those sticky price label residues from glassware and other things. Smells horrible but it works great if you let it sit for a few minutes then rub like crazy.

Take all the effort out of it - use nail polish remover. Works every time.

ETA: I forgot to mention you apply it with a Q-Tip or cotton bud and apply it using a circular motion.

Non-Acetone!!!!!!!!!!!

And as long as the shoes do not have a shiny finish.

AquaticSub -> RE: Fucking scuff marks!!! (1/26/2010 11:12:53 PM)

They do indeed have a lovely shine to them. Otherwise I woulda already used nail polish remover. [:D]

ETA - I learned the joys of nail polish remover + shoes after playing footsie with a high school homedating date. Turns out men's dress shoes and those heels with arylic (or whatever the clear material is) straps don't mix. Who woulda guessed?

I am so sorry to hear that giving Ron a blowjob won't solve the problem.  Come on over and let's discuss it, little girl.

Stella got there before me. It's what I've used for decades and I almost always have some.

Not nearly as sorry as Master Ron is [:D]

persephonee -> RE: Fucking scuff marks!!! (1/27/2010 5:08:02 AM)

the mind boggles at this thread.....

May i state for the record, that i hope that aqua doesnt go up in flames unexpectedly with all that lighter fluid....but if that works, and your skin grafts take well enough, could you let me know if that worked out?

But now, curiosity overwhelms me....i must know how you start a fire with chocolate and a soda can....i am applying to be the new McGyver....and i already know how to break out of a foreign jail using only chewing gum, a paperclip and a tampon....so the fire thing should be just the thing to put me over the top.....

I would say that a tap dance jamboree would do wonders for your nerves.

Should I bring my heels?

BTW - I'm using the baking soda and toothbrush method. Works like a dream. Hurray!
