To be fair to those terrible idiots the people, he was in charge of the budget under Blair, so he can't really plead innocence with a lot of conviction now that the Americans have wrecked the global economy.

But to blame the whole thing on him? The people was a generalisation of course not everyone but there was a very strong feeling with the media that it was all down to him, it wasn't simple as that but then it is the same ignorant group who some how managed to link the twin towers to iraq

I'd have a lot more respect for Brown (well, some respect anyway) if the lazy cunt had insisted that Blair kept his promise and fucked off back in '05. He's certainly owned nothing but contempt since then. At least when Cameron ushers in a new dystopia we might start getting better pop music again. I'll take Heaven 17 or Echo And The Bunnymen over all that britpop shit any day.

I would have had more respect for him if he stuck by his principles, the labour party is an exercise in mediocrity and fence sitting

Perhaps harsh, but there's no way in hell that he claim that he didn't know there was a crash in the waiting, is there? I'm dubious that keeping us out of the Euro (which was Brown, iirc) has done us any favours in the current situation either.
(And the twin towers were linked to Iraq by a small group of the chimp's cronies who were desperate for an excuse to invade there. Nobody else had any say in that at all, as the current inquiry is making pretty clear.)

No argument with your last point, though.

This is RC

Cameron must be rubbing his hands in glee at the thought of Blair returning to fight Labour's corner. If ever there was a rallying cry to vote against the most despicable, useless, impotent, lying, dishonest, don't give a fuck about anybody but themselves government then this is it.

I really don't know how Blair has the audacity to even think that anybody will take anything that comes out of his mouth seriously. This is the man who has lied and lied again about so many things, even when the truth has been outed, to the point where I actually believe that he doesn't realise he is doing it. The man is a pathological liar and a miserable excuse for a human being. (Don't even get me started on his media whore of a wife.)

He also has the nerve to sound off about his devout Catholocism (which he was obviously too ashamed to make public while Prime Minister, only converting after he'd jumped ship from office) while he has more blood on his hands than any of the most heinous dictators in history. The man makes me sick (you may have noticed!). Once upon a time I'd have welcomed a sniper's bullet to end his pathetic existence, but I prefer now to watch him squirm as the world wakes up to his duplicity, lies and deceit. It must be quite the achievement to go down as one of the most appalling PMs in history.

So I say, welcome back Mr Blair. Campaign for all you're worth for your incompetant former sidekick and then slink off once more when you fail miserably to rally 'your' public. I'll spare a thought for your former party followers, who trusted you to bring us all a brighter future, which you and Mr Brown then applied the reverse Midas touch to, turning everything that was once great about this country into shit. You betrayed them. You let them down. You let yourself down. And you let your country down.

People may bitch and moan about Maggie, but at least she had the balls to tell us when she was going to fuck us over. You just smiled and then did it when our backs were turned.
You're a coward, a traitor, a war criminal, and most of all, in that most wonderful of British sayings, a wanker.

RC, I take it them that you are not too keen on Mr Bliar.

But what is especially sad now, is after Bliar, there is no party the working class can call their own, the working class vote for labour because it is the thing to do, is gone, perhaps why the last election only forty percent of the voting public voted and the wanker Bliar got back in again, probably ex conservatives who saw Bliar as more conservative than what they had to offer.

Who do you think it is that keeps voting the BNP into council seats?

This is, unfortunately, very true.

Are you being serious?  Thing to do?
If people vote for a party because it's the 'thing to do' then no wonder the countries fucked.

I dont know what new Labour are thinking, especially with the Iraq inquiry going the way it is. I think the Blairites are putting this rumour about, as I cant see it being Browns doing. Gone are the days of the likes of Nye Bevin, or even Benn and Skinner. Thats the crying shame of it all.

Exactly. To my mind the only politician who they could have called in to help save them is Ken Livingstone but bringing back Tony Blair only goes to show just how in tune they are with the people of this country.

But what does it matter anyway? The banks and the media are in control now and they're going to be just as much in control after the Election.

I think they've given up on Livingstone since he lost the London mayoral election to the peroxide Spode.

I love the way people think New labour is the party of the working class. Most of new labours elite went to private schools and Oxbridge. New Labour and labour voters are poles apart and have been for years. Even some the so called left send their kids to private schools, yet claim the dross that is education today is fit for purpose. I refuse to vote for such pond life, at least with a Tory you get what it says on the tin, and how depressing is that.

You know PS53 that's always made me laugh too because New Labour always struck me as the party of the disaffected middle classes (though a lot of them do have very hard working au pairs from Eastern Europe, it must be said).

This is not to mention the 'okay yah' inverted snobs that used to congregate in shopping centres on Saturday mornings selling Socialist Worker and chanting 'Troops out of Ireland! Smash Thatcherism!' ad nauseum for years without ever bothering to work out what socialism actually is.

But it also makes me laugh that people think that The Sun is the newspaper of the working class.

If that's true, then yes, educational standards have dropped probably a bit more than we think.

I remember the election where Bliar seemed to come out of nowhere and become PM, I remember hearing the voices of people whom I worked with and some of my then adopted family. It was vote labour, I asked why, the answer was, because we do, we always vote labour. I asked which policies in particular they liked, the answer was no idea, don't care beyond we want a labour government, the party of the working class. This was in the dreaming spires of Oxford, but, I have heard the same thing before in the small close minded Northern town I came from, people then voted labour as a matter of tradition, their fathers and grand fathers have always done so, so they follow in their footsteps.

But Blair's first innings, the traditional labour voter learned exactly what they had allowed into power, New Labour was not the Labour party of old, New labour it seemed couldn't give a flying fuck about the sub working class, for they identified the working class as something else, certainly not the sink estate dweller, the traditional labour voter. So, yes, I can see why the BNP is going from strength to strength, maybe it is the labour traditionalist of old who feels betrayed by their party, making that vote, be it one of  protest or not.  Maybe  New Labour failing the traditionalist voter have given the BNP the  life it needs to become a problem.

If New Labour wants to reestablish itself as the party for the working class then I suggest it gets all its members to start learning Polish.
