These past few weeks I have felt a weakness of heart. I noticed that it seemed to be causally related to eating chocolate.

Do you?

Go to the doctor. I don't believe at all that a Hershey's kiss can cause your heart to skip beats. I do believe that what you think is a heart problem may well be diabetes and you're sensitive to the blood sugar spikes.

Unless you are eating pounds of chocolate at one sitting, I doubt it. As Celeste said, go see your doctor.

Chocolate has small amounts of caffeine in it. If you are eating alot of chocolate, then it could cause whatever problems caffeine causes.

I'm supposed to restrict my caffeine intake to no more than one Coca Cola a day (about 35 mg of caffeine per 12 ounces) because of my heart. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. If I don't, I definitely feel the difference.

My Dr advised me to limit my caffeine before I had my heart surgery.  But quite honestly, the only thing that ever bothered me was getting dehydrated.
It could be the heart or a number of other conditions.
I agree with the good ladies who posted before me--see a Dr.

Go to the doctor.

What will that accomplish?

I am not that fat to have diabetes II.

I have noticed that people that have a weak heart and that eat chocolate have not responded to the poll. I wonder whether that is because they are all dead?

What is "weakness of heart"?  girl friend troubles?

What's herpes got to do with it?

I mean physical weakness of the heart muscles.

I do not have a girlfriend. Last Monday, though, I met a disobedient, disrespectful, flippant shop tender that I would love to have in chains, whether consensual or not.

Indeed.

I was trying to do both #1 and #9, but alas.

Hi, my name is LeeAnn, aka LaT, aka June........and I am a chocoholic.

And my heart is plenty strong.

Edited to add..........you do not have to be fat to get diabetes.

Just a bit of information on diabetes... from the ADA website's article that discusses common myths about diabetes:

"Myth: If you are overweight or obese, you will eventually develop type 2 diabetes.
According the survey, approximately three in five respondents (59%) did not know that this is a false statement.  In addition, more than half (53%) of respondents did not know that risk for developing type 2 diabetes increases with age.
Fact:  Being overweight is a risk factor for developing this disease, but other risk factors such as family history, ethnicity and age also play a role. Unfortunately, too many people disregard the other risk factors for diabetes and think that weight is the only risk factor for type 2 diabetes.  Most overweight people never develop type 2 diabetes, and many people with type 2 diabetes are at a normal weight or only moderately overweight. "

As to the original question...I've not noticed chocolate affecting my heart in any noticeable way.  Then again, chocolate is a treat and not something I indulge in as much as I would like. I'm not sure what herpes has to do with any of this.
